Yes, the actual gliders were a muted blue and green, but I wanted to create them as they were portrayed in the catalogue. I tried painting the teal and light blue on the flyers but the foam stayed sticky and ended up a bit heavy.
edit,* sorry CC realized you were talking to Guam, duh*

Haven't given up on this just yet. Have been out-of-pocket due to work. Will give it some more time regarding actual dimensions, then I will let everyone know my progress. Thanks for the interest and patience!

No explanations needed my friend. In order to sustain my collection needs I have worked 3 months straight for the overtime money, especially in the dead of winter when most folks won’t get out of bed to come in on -14 degree Sunday’s.
We’re here. This is a hobby not a job. At your leisure, it’s for fun. No pressure brother.

After much digging, searching, and measuring, here are the dimensions I will be using to create my display glider(s). I have attempted to make them as close as possible to the original gliders, but (legal disclaimer) will not guarantee their accuracy ;-)
I used a tracing of an actual Falcon glider, so in theory you could scale it up (using the height & width dimensions as a guide) and print it to create a template for your own projects. Anyone is welcome to utilize these dimensions for their own projects.

To validate the process, I am going to get a sheet of 1/8" foam core from Staples and cut one out similar to Blackice's posts here. I'm also thinking I may print out the top and bottom in color, then used spray adhesive and a roller to affix them to foam core.
Will post a comparison pic when I get it knocked out.

So here it is folks, my first attempt at a Viper Glider. I used black foam core as the base material. Then I printed the top and bottom onto 24lb paper. Top and bottom were affixed to the front and back of the foam core using spray adhesive, then pressed using a craft roller. An Exacto knife with a new blade make quick work of the cutting and trimming. Final pic shows the finished product next to an actual Falcon Glider.
The foam core is obviously much thicker than the original poly foam. I think balsa or styrene (from Plastruct or Evergreen Models) might better emulate the thickness of the original.
