Does anyone have any idea how well Cotton padding/ Cotton rolls used for padding would work in protecting Joes from damage?
https://www.amazon.com/Curity-Steril...cotton+padding https://www.amazon.com/Dukal-CR1-12-...97Z9N28PDGR2KX I'm thinking about layering sheets of the cotton pad/roll in a box and, stuffing tons of Gi Joes in between the cotton layers as I'm laying the cotton layers. The Joes need to breathe as well to prevent plastic deterioration so I'm thinking about putting them in the box in layers upon layers protected by these, in partially opened bags. Is this a good idea? I need them protected from scratches and dinging as much as possible. |

That might be a good option. Open to seeing how others store/protect their vintage figures!

Does the plastic really need to breathe? I store mine in little ziplock bags, I'm pretty sure they're airtight - should I poke holes in the bags?

Same tackle boxes as above. Never considered cotton padding. It should do okay as long as there is not a fire.

Same here. I’ve been using these for probably 10 years now.

Mine are in tackle boxes as well. Haven’t had an issue. I throw some silica packs in each box to absorb any moisture. I also handle white, light blue and yellow ARAH stuff with gloves on now. Apparently, our skin oils speed up the plastics aging process, especially on the above listed colored plastics. I’m sure cotton can’t harm them though.

My thought is... If it hasn’t turned yellow in 30 years maybe it won’t?
