I finished out my collection of ARAH from straight arm - 1993 last December. This includes all basic figures (loose not carded) and most mail ins and drivers excluding some ultra rare, ridiculously priced examples. Now I am at a cross roads with my hobby. I only care to pick up a few of the figures from 1994-25th, and pretty much only the O-ring figures from those years. I was thinking of either army building or building sub sets (Dreadnoks, Iron Grenadiers, ect.)... how would you guys move forward?

It's all in the eye of the beholder. Personally, I am very picky with what I collect. But that's the cool thing about Joes -- you can go in several directions or one of 100 different ways. I say stick with what you really like. I know this was little help, but it all depends on each individual's preferences.
Congrats on finishing your primary collection, though.

I used to be a strict ARAH only guy, but some of the newer stuff is awesome. Cross the line and check out The 25th and POC stuff, it is sweet IMO.

You could army build o-rings because you'll probably need them. Anyways, good job that's something I'd like to complete as well.

Nice, and Congratulations! My aim was for every figure from 82-90 but now that's been expanded to 1991. TBH there's a load of cool figures from 92-94 so my addiction won't end! Army building is definately on the cards, Mainly with Cobra Troopers and Vipers.

I've only been collecting Modern Era over the last 5 years. I found that after completing the main part of my collection, going after rarer figures and variants made my collection feel more complete than troop building. Going after a rarer figure instead of 10 troop builders, gave me more joy. It also took more effort, time, and social networking; which meant that how I ubtained the figure made the figure even more special.
