After seeing Transformers 2 I got a itch for the SR-71 again...
I was wondering if any of you have done or seen a Night Raven converted to an SR-71? I have an old body that no one seems to be interested in... So I was thinking of attempting this... What do you guys think? This is a side-by-side pick of the Raven and a 1/48th scale Black Bird I have yet to finish....

I think it would be interesting. The cockpit would be tricky though.

Well, I was thinking about that... I can make t open up (cut it open). The hardest thing I'm looking at is the making the engines look right... I'm thinking PVC pipe, but I dunno...

Good Idea but, i think the cockpit area is not deep enough. Is a 1/32 scale model available?

Wow, that model is so close to scale with the Night Raven. I say go for it. Cut the nose wings and either use the engines from the model or go with the PVC idea and for the intakes, use the nose cones from those rocket kits that you see in the Hobby stores. They come in different sizes and in pairs. The engine afterburners, either cut strips of styrene and overlap them in the rested possition or get some old Skystriker engines.
Now if it was me who had this, i would so do a Jetfire custom out of it so the Joes would have someone do a spacebridge pop on and fuss over then wippersnappers. |
