Hi tankers. I am trying to take apart my vintage Zandar figure to change the O-Ring. I noticed the figure is glued together does any one know how to take him apart. I tried once already and ruined the figure. It is glued to together at the torso

I'd like to know too. I'm sure it has something to do with the color change technique application Hasbro used, since Zarana has the same problem of not coming apart as Zandar and Zartan. Which makes changing the o-ring extremely difficult, if not impossible.

I know there's a tutorial in the Joecustoms.com wiki, but that site appears to be down.

I opened up my 1984 Zartan figure using a box cutter razor blade without any major problem. I figured that Zandar and Zarana would be just as easy.

I never seen a o-ring figure glued before...hmmmm.. try using a
hair dry to reheat the glue and then pull apart.

I've always heard that the torsos were glued but I always figured it was a reaction of the color change plastic over the years. I would bet that if you could go back in time and find a brand new Zartan, it would probably come apart just like all the others (Course this can never be proven true) |
