I have to be honest, restoring classic GI Joe figs is new to me and I am in the middle of assembling the original 13 using the best parts I can get for multiple figs. Yes it has gotten a little expensive. One thing I recently discovered is how a new, tight O-Ring gives a fig a new life in the stomach and hips area. So I am in the process of giving all of my figs a brand new O-Ring whether they really need it or not.
And while I can tighten the knees with a little plumber's tape, I am at a loss as to what to do about lose shoulders and swivel arms. I have no idea how to undo the bolts holding the arms together, nor have I seen anything online with pics on how to do this if possible. Anyone have any ideas? Or a step-by-step process somewhere I can look at?

I think disassembling the upper arm/shoulder section requires drilling out the rivet, and to my (admittedly limited) knowledge they don't make similar rivets commercially.
I think most folks go with the super glue method of shoulder tightening.

Superglue? How does that work? Dont you risk of cementing the joints to the point they dont move at all?

you put a small amount of glue in the joint and move it back and forth continuously until it dries.
It builds up a thin, hard layer that tightens the movement.

Emphasis on the small amount!
Since it can dry a little whitish and crispy, you don't want that visible. Excess can be scraped off, but that's risky.
I'd say go with the liquid kind with the thin tip, not the gel!
And use the tiniest drop, swivel while it dries like he says, then if still loose try a tiny bit more.
I've never done this on a joe, so I'm not sure what the most effective, safe place on the shoulder to do this is. Maybe the armpit area?
