It was a little over $800 + $200 shipping. I know the majority of the tank will say I over paid but...It was well worth it considering it was still in the original box. Complete and only put together once by the orginial owner who I bought it from. Had it shipped to my dad's house who is a ARAH fan and he put it together and ensured me that everything was there....then he asked if he could keep it displayed at his place hahahahha.

Actually I would say off ebay that isn't a bad deal. Shipping for most goes between 150-200 and for a complete one with a box 800 isn't bad. I got mine 80 percent complete, paid 355 with shipping. It came with a couple loose vehicles sold them got 100 so down to 255 but spent another 300 to complete it so 555 in the end. Now if I could just find a box for it. In decent shape I would pay 100-150 just for the box.

You can definately find them for cheap on craigslist. I just picked up a flagg last week for $150. It had quite a few of the harder to find pieces that I needed for the flagg I already own. I will probably be listing this 2nd flagg on ebay this coming week.

My big problem is my place isn't very big so none of my stuff is on display at the moment. I don't now how many times I've purchased things from ebay and then go to put it in my containers to find another one just like it. I have just about everything from 82-94 the thing is trying to find better versions as some of my guys have paint wear or broken parts that need to be replaced or missing parts. |

Getting back to the 66 vs 99 vs 69 discussion, I can explain what Hasbro did vs what the Navy does, vs what collectors may want to do...
Officially speaking, the Navy places the deck numbers of aircraft carriers where you can read them while flying over the ship from Stern to Bow (back to front). With that being the case, the USS Flagg's box, instructions, promo material, etc are all labeled "66" which would be incorrect per Naval specifications. If you are going to replace your Flagg decals, you have a choice: 1. make it an official Naval vessel and place the decals in the "99" designation per Navy specs (going against Hasbro's directions) 2. replicate the original assembly and place the decals in the "66" designation (possibly for nostalgic purposes) 3. jack around with people and give it a "69" designation (actually, this is the Dwight D. Eisenhower designation, CVN-69 with the "N" being added because the carrier has a nuclear reactor) 4. place the labels in a "66" designation and leave off the "USS Flagg" decals and call it the "USS America" (which is an official naval vessel (more details from Wikipedia) My hope is to some day get a Flagg in superb shape and keep it with original decals just as Hasbro released it (with the "66" designation), THEN have a 2nd Flagg that I piece together as a restoration project using some repro parts and set it up as the USS America, and also get an extra bow plate and place repro numbers on it with the "99" designation that I can swap out on the superb Flagg. That's the dream. I'll start with the USS America first (everyone else has a Flagg) and go from there. -------------------------------------------------- hey codenameflint! If you replace some of your figs with better versions, LMK if you are willing to trade the extras as my vintage Joe collection is still very small. Thanks!

Yea, I'm conflicted on doing the stickers the old school (66) method which is how the instructions say to place them or do it correctly and make it 99. I know some people reading this might be saying, "who cares". It's just something I've been thinking about. I won't be applying the new stickers until after the sun comes out and I live in Oregon......that could be a while from now.

Oh and I forgot, if you do the USS America version... don't forget to put the tower decals on correctly as well!
P.S. I edited choice #3 in my original post as there really is a "69" carrier.
