SinisterSS, I moved your post into the Flagg mega-thread and stickied it so they all are on top.
We now have the Flagg, Terror Drome and Defiant threads up top for easy viewing.

I kind of made one, does that count?
Before: After: The deck, which I repainted, I made back in 2004 for my son. The Super Structure, which I welded the cracks, reformed the warpage and painted is missing the flag and antenna. I moved mine down to the basement recently.
The jets and Mamba aren't staying, I just needed a place to put them.

Thanks, Xero. Seems like it takes forever to get it all organized, doesn't it? Especially now that you're relocating them. Looks like you might need to invest in some shelving.

I love what you've done. I found your photo on Google images, looking for the correct number placement of the "99" (nines out, towards the ocean, or in, towards the bridge?). I can't help but enjoy the idea of Misty and a Corsola manning the missile battery. (As someone whose spent a lot of hours with Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, I'm starting to wonder how Brock or Clay would look operating an Armadillo with Larvitar or Marowak. ;) )
Back to the thread's subject, my dad got me parts of a Flagg (used) when I was a kid. To my knowledge, I had most of the flight deck, but only one or two of the "boat" sections, below deck. To keep the rest level, we used stacks of tomato paste cans, vowing that we'd eventually find missing parts for the Flagg. My aircraft issue was a bit more complicated. Until I got my Phantom X-19 and Tiger Rat, the only aircraft I had was a Raven I pieced together from parts and a Rattler that I'd then-long since forgotten (when I got it for my 1984 birthday, I was still more into Dukes of Hazzard cars than I was into anything military). Once I set the Flagg up the first time, my family's favorite feature was the arrestor cable. I've heard it's compatible with the Skystriker, but at the time we didn't have one to test it with. Is it compatible with later-model G.I. Joe aircraft (the Rattler/Tiger Rat included)? Quote:
I'm very proud to be a Flagg owner. I know for most Joe collectors it's something of a holy grail but I honestly have to say it's where my collection started. I never had Joes growing up, I was a Lego kid. I watched the cartoon and I always thought the toy commercials were cool but I never wound up with any of the vehicles or figures.
The first time I saw a Flagg was a little over 10 years ago in a local comic shop. It was jaw dropping, so big that it was displayed across the tops of the 4 soda coolers that lined one wall near the entrance and I was instantly hooked. I had just lost my job so the $400 price tag put it out of reach for me at the time as I was living off my savings. None the less I showed up every week to pick up my comic subscriptions and admire the dust covered Flagg. She only sat there for a month or so before she was sold, dashing my hopes of landing another job and saving up the money to buy her in time. I have not seen another one in person until just recently when I decided to bite the bullet and start collecting parts. I started with a parts lot on Ebay. It had the under structure, bow and stern and the bottom 2 levels of the island as well as 3 of the flight deck pieces and the elevator as well as some of the small hard to find parts like the Y pins and fantail railing. I got a pretty good deal on it because one of the previous owners had painted the island pieces blue with black insides, judging by that I think it's safe to say she was a cobra custom at some point in her life. After the massive box arrived I cleaned the parts and decided to paint over the black and blue rather than risk damaging the vintage plastic. There were also some cracks that I hit with modelers glue so the paint helped hide that too. The largest piece of the flight deck that the island connects to was missing as was the hull skirt but it wasn't long before I tracked them down and had her as I call it "Sea Worthy" Again. After that I began collecting the parts to fully fit her out. I worked at it pretty quickly and had everything in place in a little over a month with parts from 15 different states. Everything is original with the exception of the mast cap and the stickers which I ordered from J. Ruben. Most of the deck stickers were ok but I replaced a few. I lucked into a couple of the reissue SkyStrikers to help fill out my deck, the rest of which is filled with lego planes, anime figures (Remember I have no Joes) and a few other things I think makes my Flagg pretty Unique and I hope everyone enjoys seeing. Here's my Flagg |

Thanks. I have so few Joes that my anime figures do stand in work as the Flagg's crew.
As for the placement of the 9s I was never very picky about it. The parts lot I bought when I pieced mine together had its 9s already on it and still in amazing condition so I left them as is. I'm pretty sure the arrestor cable only works with the Skystriker. There's a yellow hook piece that hitches into the back of the striker between the tail fins. It works best on the original skystriker but if you're careful it will attach to the newer ones like the 25th anniversary editions it just doesn't fit as well because the mold is new. I heard the originals were destroyed or lost years ago. |

Hello everyone. I just purchased a Flagg this weekend at Joe Con. Psyched to get this thing up and displayed. Does anyone have links for some of the reproduction parts? Im missing some of the hard to find stuff and don't want to spend an arm and a leg.

There is an eBayer that goes by RBVR that makes repro deck railing and deck clips. I have bought the clips and they work great. It's very hard to tell the repro from the original...even the color is similar. I can't speak on the deck rail other than it looks like a suitable replacement for the original (which goes for close to $100). I may have some spare parts lying around for the Flagg so just post in here what you are looking for. Someone will come to your rescue! Welcome to the Flagg club and enjoy your 7 1/2' monster!
