Thanks!
Yeah they're great, and add a little height and give extra space underneath. They also have really nice Joe logos laser etched into them. You can find them on Ebay. He has flight stands for all sorts of different Joe and Cobra vehicles. |

After years of feeling intense jealousy each time I saw this page pop up, I can finally count myself among the number of Flagg owners! I got a sweet deal, though it is missing a few of the usual suspects (Keel Haul's gun, one and a half deck pins, the small rail, the megaphone, one of the bits from the radar tower). The life boat is a little yellowed, but the tower looks great. The stickers are original and in amazing shape and looks like a parent applied them as they are all straight and well aligned. Unfortunately it is gonna be boxed until I can get a good place for it... (wish I had room, tools and materials to put together that amazing under structure like Michael Mercy's!)
It's a strange feeling fulfilling a 30+ year old dream, like it is closing out one of the few bits of unfinished childhood business, but I can't feel too maudlin about it since I can now shift my attention to tracking down a Defiant!

I know that feeling you describe very well. I've had my Flagg for a few years now but I can happily say every time I see it, it still knocks my socks off as much as the first day I got it. It's simply too big to ever become used to or bored of, especially if you add the lower deck and put it on wheels so that you can 'sail' it around your room. ;)

Like the title says, New member with the holy grail of G.I. Joe toys. I've come across this forum before but never joined. Well after 31yrs I finally aquired a U.S.S Flagg. My brother and I wanted this Joe toy since we first saw the toy catalog and t.v. commercial back in 1985, parents said no due to the price.
Well my current story goes: I found a eBay member selling a Flagg for $575.00+ $65.00 shipping or best offer. His pictures showed everything laying out side by side, plus some extra Joe figures. Seller said he got it from a estate sale, doesn't know how to assemble it and knows very little about it or if it's even complete. I could see some of what was missing but not all, So I decided to make and offer, I came in with a lowball offer of $200 and I'll pick it up saving him the hassel of shipping it(he was only 1hr away from my house) plus it'll show me how much he's willing to budge on his price. He responded with $300 free pickup. made sure my wife was ok with me buying this, My wife said I can do what I wanted since it was within what I was looking to spend, I told my wife I'll think about it lets just finish our plans for the day and I'll get back to him. Well 2hrs later I get a message from the guy saying $270 free pick up, told my wife I'm pulling the trigger, I'm not gonna pass this one up, but since the guy came back with a lower offer in a short amount of time I replied back to the seller with $250 cash I'll pick it up today only, it'll save you money from the eBay seller fees, PayPal's cut and the hassle of shipping. He responded with his phone number and address(YES!!). I'm very pleased with my purchase. I get it home to assemble it and check to see whats missing. I was shocked it's almost complete and it's in really great shape, stickers too! I'll post pic's once I get it moved to the table I just bought to place it on. It'll be stored in my basement. My plans are to complete it, get new stickers for it, already sent Cobrastickers.com a email but haven't got a response yet. Maybe someone here knows if their stickers are precut or if I have to cut them? Now on with the missing parts: 1. rocket launcher= got a complete one off eBay 2. 5 of the 6 missles= I only need 2 now. 3. the flag post 4. the entire antenna mast assembly 5. rear fantail railing 6. 1 bulkhead door(wasn't missing, it's just broke) 7. stern and wheel= got the assembly off eBay 8. purge vavle 9. arrestor string and 2 arrestor base's 10. yellow crane hook 11. 1 hand rail stair 12. bow ladder= got one off eBay 13. microphone battery cover 14. 1 deck ladder= got one off eBay 15. Admiral's chair 16. Admiral Keel-Haul's pistol 17. bomb rack 18. both anchors 19. tow vehicle assembly 20. fuel trailer assembly 21. instructions sheet If anyone here has these items and wants to sell/trade please let me know. I know they can found on eBay but I prefer to buy as many pieces at one time to save on shipping and 99% of the eBay sellers only have 1-2 items I need from my list. Congratulations on securing your Flagg! It's a gem!
The Fantail Deck railing will be nearly impossible to find. They go for up to $100 I know a guy who cast that part. I'll need to see if he still can do it or has any and I'll let you know. All my parts (mast pieces, yellow tow hook, fuel truck hook & nozzles etc) came from his casts. A much cheaper option than trying to find original parts.

I knew if I didn't pull the trigger now It would be a very long time before a deal like this comes around again. Thanks, after I purchased it and set it up, I sent my older brother a text asking him "What was the one G.I. Joe toy we both wanted so badly and never got?" He said "the flag". I text him a picture of it, his reply was classic "wtf? I'm on my way over to play Joe's." lol |
