I got so excited tonight. I was digging through a bag of random parts that I had bought a couple of years ago. Never thought much about them. Boom I pull out the two y pins for the flagg. I remember the guy telling me he had a flagg that he tossed because it was yellow and broken. I never saw it and it never dawned on me that there may be flagg parts lying around. I am getting closer to completion. I lack the fantail deck railing and elevator support and mine is complete It has taken almost 7 yrs or more to complete. I bought a second flagg and I took some its goodies to help out. Could someone post a pic of how the tanker and the fuel car hookup? I might be missing something there but I have the hook but it doesn't seem to quite fit right into the yellow car.

Well i'm at a crossroad. I bought my Flagg about two years ago. It's in great shape besides the good ole yellowing that occurs. I did the peroxide bath when I got it for two days on this beast and it came out great. I don't leave it set up for lack of space. But bring it out occasionally to put together and have awesome battles with my sons. I have always left the tower put together when finished playing and store it in my closet away from light. But now it's starting to turn again. I'm thinking of painting the tower and never worry about it again. Have any of you did this? And what color, light grey or white?

I painted mine white. Of course when I pieced mine together a previous owner of most of my tower had painted it blue and black. I'm assuming it was a custom Cobra Flagg at some point in it's life. I used a flat paint that I bought at Home Depot, I think it was Rustoleum or Krylon

I'd just leave it, the lower half of my Flagg is yellowed... just what happens to these guys.

Been a while since I was on the boards.
I was a FLAGG owner in the late 90s and sold it off when I married (lack of space.) Bought my second FLAGG in 2011. I did a part check when it arrived and it was 95% complete or so. Between 2011 and 2012 I managed to grab all but two pieces, if I recall correctly. We moved and the parts went into storage. I never actually assembled it. It's been boxed, except for the large runway pieces, this whole time. I have the space coming up to finally display it. Over the years I've collected two of the 30th Ann Skystrikers, a ME Conquest, vintage Tomahawk and Eaglehawk along with a ME SHARC. I suspect when I start unboxing that the tower is yellowed, the runway is two different shades of grey and I know that the main part of the runway has a wave. I assume a little time flat with some weight should correct the wave and then...I don't know what to do with the discoloration. Painting it, even if I don't intend for it to be sold in my lifetime, feels wrong but then again I want it to look good. I plan on repro stickers and I know some of the parts are HotDog and Aly so...opinion? With repro parts and stickers should I just go all in and paint it or try and peroxide the ugly away? Edit: Oh, and it's been so long since I bought the reproduction parts that I don't recall which are which. Last edited by tmelton78; 09-09-2016 at 12:36 AM.. |

Edit: Oh, and it's been so long since I bought the reproduction parts that I don't recall which are which. I now store my Flagg in my home and in a giant tupperware box that I got from Target. I think the unpredictable extreme temperatures outside whether in my garage or in the storage on the side of my house was a culprit on why my original Flagg parts aged so badly and yellowed. I'm happy to say that since purchasing my tower/control deck replacement parts over 2 years ago, none have discolored.

I love the stands for the tomahawk and Skystriker. They look as if they're taking off on the deck.
