Hey man, PM me your address, I have a ton of stuff, including that missing torpedo that I can send your way.
Nostalgia buying can get out of hand, trust me. I've spent probably close to 2000 bucks reacquiring my childhood in hopes that it'll fill the void of my wife's passing. I won't lie, it does help (most people say it doesn't and only masks your true pain.) But it won't replace the people you love, so don't try to escape your life or replace everything with nostalgia. Just focus on what you lost in the attic and spread it out to either a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly purchase. If it's something big, like a vehicle, save those for birthdays, etc... don't let your collecting keep food off the table or bills unpaid. Doing so will only sully the pleasure of collecting. |

So I've been spending some dough this past month. I pretty much went through my allotted G.I. Joe spending account for the next few months and have to wait a while so I can build up more funds, lol. I got a few vehicles, and about 30 figures between '84 & '85 as well as a couple from '83 almost all of them in near mint, 100% complete, uncarded condition. Yippee!!!
So I wanted to throw a few questions your way! How do you guys display your figures? Also, do you have them standing on the peg bases fully geared up and posed, or do you have them ungeared at attention? If ungeared, how do you display the gear? Or don't you? Have any of you guys considered/use museum glue/gum to hold them in place so they never fall? I'd like to give thanks to Sbartek and chewie for helping me get kick started on my collection as well as crosscountry and the rest on the forum for some great tips, help, support in getting me pointed in the right direction! You guy are amazing and thank you! |
