Compared to other '85 carded figures that is. You can usually get most of the others under 10 bucks if you are patient enough, apart from snow serpents and eels because of their ridiculous number of easily lost accessories, but Shipwreck doesn't seem to be able to be had for under 25 bucks no matter how patient i am. I assume it has to do with the TV show? I never got to watch it since i didn't grow up in America, and i know he is not featured much in comic books as i have read those.

He was popular in the cartoons I guess. The other thing is that his hook was fragile and the strap on his pistol tended to break.

He was not very popular among my friends, none of us ever bothered to get him. Silly accessories and the old timey sailor outfit just didn't do it for us.

He was one of my absolute favorite figures in 1985, up there with 1984 SS and 1985 SE. Loved the colors, face sculpt, parrot, string accessory. Didn't like the gun that much.

Is $25 really expensive for a 30-year-old figure when that's what new ones from the FSS cost?
Not bad compared to what some of those 5-year-old Hasbro EU and vintage collection figures are going for these days either. |

Like the vintage EU wave. I think last time I checked it was $100 for an EU Republic Trooper

Well it's only expensive compared to almost all other figures of the same year. Only Snake Eyes is more expensive out of all the 85 carded figures, and i can at least understand that one (super popular + lots of accessories + a flipping wolf).

I do not. I think that just crosses the line between reliving my childhood and simply being an adult who likes toys. Not that there is anything wrong with that
