A few years ago I picked up a really cheap complete Storm Shadow on ebay, one of those I should of looked before I leaped deals. Less than a minute left and it was only 11 dollars, bid on it before looking at all the pictures. Turns out it has some light ink stains on the arms and hands. It looks like it is from those old markers from the 80's rather than from an ink pen. It's a shame too the figure is in near perfect shape otherwise.
Anyhow long enough story about all that, is there anything that can remove the stains ? |

I heard hair spray works wonders and even nail polish remover, but I strongly suggest testing the technique on a throw away figure first.

Thanks Xero! I'll give the hair spray a try, I'll have to go buy some first though. I haven't had hair spray since since I stopped wearing my hair spiked in the 80's lol.
I'm far too paranoid to try the nail polish remover, read too many horror stories about it. I have a pretty badly sun damaged Spirit I got in a lot I'll try the hair spray on. I almost threw it away it was so sun damaged, been hanging on to it until I needed the T-hook or screws for another Joe. |

the nail polish remover (acetone) will strip all the paint off your figure or damage the plastic. I advise against that.
i noticed baby oil got sharpie off of a Mainframe that had been doctored up to look perfect. afterwards rub the baby oil off with rubbing alcohol.

I have had amazing luck with Magic eraser. If that doesn't do the trick I use really diluted goo gone. Takes off permanent maker without screwing up the paint. In any case good luck bro.

The least likely to cause any damage is probably the Magic Eraser that truejoefan mentioned. After that, I recommend hair spray. I got a Viper glider years ago that was "customized" with an ink pen. A q-tip and some of the wife's hair spray took care of it easily.

Magic eraser is slowly working on the leg of my Mission Brazil Mainframe. I dont know what the blob is but it's slowly going away.
