well i put zartan in a cup of hot water and let it sit there for a few minutes took a razor and cut him open at the line where the 2 pieces meet...but i had to use some force to pry him open...i didnt mess him up too bad...and where i did kinda mess him up just ends up being hidden in the waist anyways other then that i have successfully changed out the O-Ring...thanks for the ideas guys

Just did this. I set him outside in the sun, I live in Arizona, for about 10 minutes and used a sharp knife and he popped right open. Just be carefully of yourself and your 19 year old antique!!!!!

Yeah, it's pretty easy. All you have to do is take one of those pointy tools stick it in the bottom. Then as you pry it apart gently you use an exacto and very gently cut down the seam from the opening in just to get the adhesive to break free. Make sure you watch out for the small pegs on either side that you don't cut them off. Some come apart easier than others.

He's probably one of my favorite figs of all time. If his o-ring fails I hope I have the skills to open him without breaking him

I used a brand new x-acto blade to slowly (and I mean SLOWLY) cut mine open to replace the o-ring. Suffered no damage at all.
