Back then for us older fans like me, my first GI Joe was Rock and Roll in his green outfit with the big light machine gun.
also at the time my parents gave me a play toy life size G.I. joe helmet for me to play in. Kind of cool but I was wondering if it was a mail in offer to go along with the old Rock and Roll figure back in the day? |

I don't recall a mail in offer of a wearable play helmet and yojoe.com doesn't list one on their Joe mail-in list. Could have been any generic Army play helmet from back in the day.

In the 70's I got a Super Joe Terron, cause it looked "Star Wars-esque", I guess. Pretty cool toy, I liked it alot.
Also got a Milton Bradley Starbird, cause it looked the part. I did have some GI Joe colorforms(?) things. I can't remember its real name. It was basically a fold out picture, and you had a bunch of dry-rub stickers of characters and vehicles you could position how you wanted. Last edited by Zarana X; 08-11-2014 at 07:09 PM.. |

We had the radio with detachable walkie talkie too and a cache of realistic looking cap guns to complete the outfit. We used wiffle and hand balls as grenades. Good times. Now the kids only know video games.

It's so weird that I still remember to this day about when I was a little kid and that rock and roll was my first go joe figure and me still remembering an odd thing like the play toy life size go joe helmet I wore back then.
Whether it was a go joe helmet or just a play on old play toy helmet I had fun with it |

I had this cool Tank called Big Tracks it had a trailer that could dump. You programmed it's course and it could make laser firing sounds. It was super cool. I don't rember exactly but I think I wanted some joe vehicle and got that instead. Years ago now I bought one on eBay I still love it.
