Not saying it isnt possible, but the older they get the harder it is. I have a couple of ninja force figures that the o-ring has broken on and they are glued together as well. I have had limited success fishing a bigger o-ring around the "peg" that would have been for a screw so that you basically have 2 loops to hook on the t-hook.

I've heard using a razor to carefully cut along the sides will work, but damn, that sounds like a lot of precision work.

For Zartan, Zarana & Zandar. Assuming they're already broken, use an X-acto/scalpel and seperate the halves starting at the hole in the waist and/or neck. The hole in waist will be easier to hide any damage or gaps you may cause, so I recommend starting there. The torsos are softer than other Joes. After you get about 3/8" of an inch or so seperated, try to pry the halves apart from the inside by using a small flathead screwdriver or other small prying tool. There is a pin on each side about where the bottom of their ribs would be. Once those pins seperate, you should be home free.
Due to the color changing nature of the plastic, boiling them would probably make it easier, but may damage the color. I've yet to try it on a junk figure. I've seen enough perma-blue figures on eBay, so I don't have high hopes for trying it. |

I have a Zandar I'm trying to restore. One WEIRD thing I've been reading more about is silicone lube spray. Silicone and graphite (the type you put into a frozen door lock) have a way of getting into really thin membranes and seperating surfaces without being corrosive. I soaked the Zandar in silicone spray and got his body apart. WORD OF CAUTION: his legs got the sloppy silicone drips and now he has loose knees. So be careful.

If they're still floppy after that, some Future on the joints should get them snug. |

You might be better off trying to source a replacement arm. Then again, I've never used a rivet gun and the most extensive work I've had to do on any one figure is replace the broken "T-Hook" on my V2 Destro's legs and then his o-ring.
