Hi Dax,
Hopefully someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I remember, the only hole is that of the figure's back screw. The sound box has two panels - front and back. The back panel is held in place by the figure's back screw. The front panel (the one with the buttons) then screws on the box itself. Here's an image I found online of Sonic Fighters Road Pig to give you an idea.

Sonic fighters backpacks attach just like any other backback. The talking battle commanders like stalker, overkill, etc have the backpack mounted via screwholes in the back of the figure.

but even those were easy to take off...four screws on each corner then a few more on the inside directly into the back of the figure...no gaping hole but the backs are a little more flattened with no detail..not so much it ruins the figure in fact i prefer them without the packs

Yes. They backpacks just have the same tab as all the other backpacks. These backpacks are just A LOT more cumbersome. I display them with the backpacks sitting behind them. The 4 commander figures have 3 screws in the back of the figure. But both series 1 and 2 of sonic fighters use the tabs.

Yep. Dial-Tone, Lamprey, Dodger, and Road Pig's all look like computer terminals that you can have them using.
