Hello,
I am new to this site as it appears to be the best place to ask my question on the internet. I have recently been handed a whole bunch of Joe toys from when I was young. As I dug through it I found my 2nd 1982 Snake Eyes that I never opened. I've been poking around looking at values on all these figures and the numbers I see for this one in particular are startling. I'm looking for input on what these things really do sell for and whether sending it off for a ranking is worth it. The card is pretty good save the place where my mother foolishly pulled the price tag off in 1982. My version has the mail in combra commander info on the front, but isn't a swivel arm, so it appears it must be a 1982 (first run) version. The date on the bottom of the cardback supports that belief. |

Wild Weasel is joking by the way.
Do a search on ebay for Snake Eyes, MOC, vintage and variations on that and look for the completed auctions. That should give you an idea of what similar items go for. If there has been no writing on the cardback whatsoever, then it could be sent to AFA for grading. It costs a little bit, but the price you could sell the figure for usually covers that cost and some more. It's all up to you. You need to ask yourself... A - Do I want to keep it as-is? B - Do I want to keep it in pristine condition? (put it in a protective case on a closet wall or send to AFA for grading) C - Do I want to sell it? (as-is or with AFa grading?) D - something else darthdrew13 didn't think of? Pick what makes you the most satisfied and go with it. Don't be in a hurry. Take your time with the decision. You may have $400.00 or more in your hands (or less if it doesn't look too good). Be careful and follow your gut.

if the card and bubble are in great shape except for the price tag I would get it graded then sell it. Even if it graded AFA 70-75 due to the price tag removal you might still get $500-$700 for it. To give an idea a AFA 75 right now has a BIN of near $1000 but isn't selling at that price. I would be surprised if it graded any higher then that.
