From ONLY a design perspective do you still like the orginal ARAH Joes?
I don't,IMO the design of the orginal Joes can't compare to the Modern Era figures. |

The vehicles and playsets, sure. They still hold up fairly well. The figures are laughable, fragile pieces of crap that should have stayed in the 80s.

Compared to how today's are made, of course they don't hold up. But they are still good. They're not that fragile at all.

I love them. Their designs were more playable in a lot of ways. You didn't run into issues like "Duke Arms" or "Viper hands."

Design wise the Modern Era figures are the shit...Although for rough play, the sturdy ARAH hold out much better then the soft 25th stuff.

nostalgia aside, ARAH can't hold a candle to 25th.
and i LOVE ARAH, so it pains me to admit it. but it's true. game, set, match. 25th victorious. |

No they're not fragile. But they are technically inferior.
My ARAH are now in deep storage. |

The Modern Era don't FEEL as tough as the ARAH do. THe ME just feel weak when I'm moving 'em around, always afraid going to snap 'em into pieces.

Here is my honest opinion. I am only buying ARAH items that where not produced in the 25th line. Why? I loved the original line until we got updated versions of the old stuff. Why would I want a 1980's Sky Hawk when the Ghost Hawk is far better. I could go on but I don't need to, you all know what I am saying. Sure there will always be a market for ARAH items but how do you compare a 1983 Cobra Soldier to a 25th one. I will always have a place for my older Joes but just like you asked, they don't compare to the modern stuff.
