I think the old stuff is far more compact and durable. The new stuff is more beautiful, but not as durable. So as a toy, the old stuff. As a collection piece the new stuff. That is about as dry toast as i can get. Also when the old stuff utalized repaints and franken-ho -ing, it was a little less obvious and not so hodge-podgy.....well at least until the 90's. COBRA!

honestly i like ARAH not for the designs because like most here i agree that there is no comparisson to what we have. HOWEVER, that being said, it sure was a lot easier to swap out parts with just unscrewing the back of the figure.

I liked that the o-rings were replaceable with either new ones or cleverly wound rubberbands. Overall the new ones are nice, but I find some of them are "cursed" and will not stand no matter how you position them w/o a battle stand. The old ones could at least do that arms-at-the-side pose with weapons and have a good shot of display.

The new figs are not durable at all. My son has some for actual playing purposes and they ware out really fast. They are made very very cheaply. I will not collect these on a large scale like I do my precious ARAH o-ring figs. I love them soooooo much.

I just don't understand your reasoning for posting that all the ARAH are pieces of shit that look ridiculous. Even if that's how you feel, you really come off as a pric.

The 25th line is okay for getting vehicles, but as for figures, the original are still superior. The original Joes are sturdy, rugged, and detailed. The 25th figures look lanky and out of proportion with small heads. This pin head problem was also present in the new scult o-ring figures. All of that being said, some of the new figures are decent, such as the BATs and Air Troopers, but I am very select in what I purchase.

this topic has been debated so many times, it all comes down to personal choice, but for me, i think ARAH is the best, if hasbro gave us a choice between remakig all the vintage figures all over again or continuing with the modern line, i would choose ARAH in a heartbeat for the fact in my opinion they are better made, look cooler and to me are just pure awesomeness.
the modern line is cool, and there is a lot of detail in the figures like removable webgear, more detail in the face, but there are alot of draw backs as well like softer plastic, and the quality just isnt as good in my opinion. they are a bit bigger too which is a draw back to me.
