Already sold all my GvJ, Spytroops, VsV figures that came in 2 packs. I still try to collect the 6-packs and comic packs because they still have the original sculpt design and some of those figures are based on the comics that were never made in the 80s.
For those who still collect ARAH figures: are you still buying the Convention Sets that have the original sculpt based on the 80s figures?

agree or disagree, I actually get pretty upset with people in general who are in the mindset of "if it's old it sucks". Be it girlfriends, cars, music, movies, or toys, a lot of people treat them as "disposable heroes" and move on to the next best thing and leave the past far behind. For Example: I remember headbanging to the likes of Motley Crue and Judas Priest back in the 80's and the same bastards that stood by my side at the concerts are now into Tool and Slipknot (etc.) so everything else sucks....yeah well...let me dig out those high school pics of you little bastards in your Poison T-shirts!!!!! which is i, were you being fake back then or are you being fake now? Anyway, respect and appreciate the past at least folks, or the futures doomed.......that's all I ask : - ) As an adult, interested only in having these guys standing about on my desk...Ima go with the cleaner lines and more realistic proportions. No disrespect to the toys I loved as a kid...Consider it going from your first car (and all the fun you had tooling around in it) to the finer car you drive now. It doesn't hurt your love of driving to have a nicer car...I don't see what it is that has you "pretty upset". As has been said, it's all from the same place... The second bit there ('headbanging, band shirts, ect...) I'm not gonna touch. Nothing good will come of that discussion.

I don't buy into the ARAH being more durable. When I was a kid, broken crotches, broken thumbs, etc. plagued my Joes. My son has yet to destroy a 25th. I like the flexible plastic more, as it has give where the old ones didn't. I do not like how the 25's can't sit for shit tho.
I love both, but I would give the 25ths an edge.

some people pretty much did say that, but to each their own....
people that do that "second bit", get me pretty upset. Not saying everyone is like that, but some people need a check, that's all I meant. : - )

Grew to like the Modern Era/25th figures more, especially from wave 5 and up.
LOVE the ARAH vehicles. Good god man those designers that Hasbro employed were talented! In fact, what are we still bitching about 2 years after the 25th anniversary? Lack of vehicles and playsets! |

I still like ARAH because of the vehicles and sheer number of figures that will probably never see their day in the modern era line. With that said 25th/ME is an upgrade and I'd love to see it get the run ARAH did.

After watching Resolute my love for ARAH has diminished slightly; but the ARAH vehicles and playsets shall forever be the greatest toys ever made IMO.

I've got to say, 25th is more durable for play. I haven't broken any of them yet.
ARAH, not so much. I think once you introduce removable web gear and other stuff. 25th is superior. |

To be honest about it. The ARAH of the 80's needs to stay in the 80's. This is speaking strictly from a designer point of view. This is only referring to the figures of course.
Sure those old figures were great as a kid, but now having the modern era's of my favorites coming back it is no choice to me at all. |
