I'm going to post pictures of my vintage vehicle restorations using J Ruben decals and vintage ARAH parts to complete them to their original glory.
Basically I buy the vehicles as complete as possible, using eBay and other sources to complete them, and J Ruben decals from www.rattlerrepros.com - Home I wash all the pieces with warm soapy water to remove 30 years of gross. I remove the decals and use Goo Gone to remove the residue. I then try my best to cut and apply the decals using google pics, YoJoe and scanned blueprint instructions. Sometimes I'll put them on a bit crooked, or not quite in the right place sometimes. Here are some of my results... 1987 Cobra Wolf: Cleaned up, no decals: Decals applied: 1983 MMS Mobile Missile System: Before: Yucky dirty decals. Cleaned up: After decals: 1982 HAL: Cleaned up: After decals: 1982 JUMP (used 25th jetpack) Before: After decals: |

1984 CLAW (I'm really happy with this one.)
Before: Yuck! Cleaned up: After decals: 1985 Mauler: Before: After decals: I don't have before pics of these, but they do have repro decals. The Havoc is fully restored. The Stun just needs a rear gun. The rear Havoc guns have been replaced since these pics.... |

Nice work. I do the same thing. J Rubens stickers are top of the line. They are also cheaper than most places.

They look so shiny after restoration. Do you soak them in the watr for a set amount of time? I have 2 Wolfs that I want to fix up. Thanks for posting.

I wash them with Dawn and warm water. Dry completely. Goo Gone to remove any residue. That's usually enough. But I will use Armor All too. Just make sure to wipe off all the excess Armor All before you apply decals, otherwise they won't stick.

That's really great work. Do you let them soak for a while? Or do you just dip them right in and give them a good scrubbin' and a dryin'?

I don't soak them. Toothbrush, soap and water and scrub. Then Goo Gone.
Here's The SNAKE Armor I just got and cleaned. Looks weird with no decals, but it's the perfect clean slate... I totally forgot to take "before" pictures, oh well. And here's a before shot of my next project... the Water Moccasin... |
