I tried to split a Zandar and because it was so soft, it left a huge gap when I cut along the weld with an x-acto knife.
Now, that could have been the figure I had and yours might not be as soft, but for me I ended up ruining him.

I've done Zandar and one of the Ninja Force figures. Any solvent that'll loosen the glue will probably damage the figure. Use a sharp blade and go slow. Good advise- Glued Torsos - JCWiki

This is one of my favorite threads ever!
I was going to let my Cobra Stun soak then dry. Do I need to wash off the Dawn residue? Also when scrubbing do you use a medium bristle or soft bristle toothbrush? I plan to use Novus Plastic polish at the end. I want a shiny black Stun and any feedback would be appreciated. |

Anybody? I don't want to use a firm toothbrush if it will scratch the toys, but will a soft one work?
Also I was going to soak in Dawn, use a toothbrush while wet, then do plastic cleaner. Sound right? |

Big Buff, I can honestly say that I think you will do all right with a soft bristle toothbrush, warm water, and some kind of dish soap. In 99% of cases you won't need anything more abrasive than that and a toothbrush shouldn't do any noticeable damage to the plastic in terms of leaving scratches. I've never worked with "plastic cleaner" before (assuming we're now referring to something like that Novus or Armor All type of stuff). My gut feeling is you won't even need that stuff, but that's up to you after you get the initial cleaning done and whether or not you're content with the results.

I just use the dish scrubber never had any issues. Toothbrush for the nooks and crannies. Not sure if the toothbrush is hard or soft, it's an old one I held on to when replacing it with a new one.

Does restoring vehicles with repro decals devalue the vehicle? Im not going to sell them anytime soon. Just curious. I have a ton of vintage armybuilders I was thinking of restoring. Really want to do my 7 night ravens. I did a havoc and my 6 skystrikers already.

In my personal opinion, I'd say no. If I'm searching for a vehicle and the listing notes that it has repro decals, I'm typically pleased as the vehicle has a nice, clean "new" look to it. Repro stickers on a vehicle never steered me away from purchasing, but my preference doesn't speak for the full market, of course.
