I have a MAJOR hinderence to my Joe hobby, I have NO ROOM!!!! I have 2 small children(1 is still in diapers) a cat. My biggest concern is how to set my Flagg back up without it being destroyed by my children. Anyone faced this same dilemma? How did you set your flagg up? I want to put it up higher than my two year old can reach.
#2 How can I set up a joe room without my wife getting pissed. If you can help me with that. I would appreciate it. Cuz I need one. I got huge armies on both sides and I just have to get all my shiznit in the same room where I can see just how big both my armies are. You never really know what you got till you set it up.

Here's a late-ish reply...
I have 2 children also (3 year old and 4 month old). Most of my collection is in boxes. I did this after my 1st son broke my TF G1 Wheeljack. For the big stuff, they are on top of the bookcases. I used a 30 gallon trash bag to cover it up and popped it up there. About your wife...? Don't know... buy her a diamond bracelet? For myself... we're moving into a larger warehouse, and I'm going to be setting up my entire collection in my office... Otherwise, they would still be in boxes. At least they are going to be safe.

I guess the first question would be do you own your dwelling?
Do you have a garage? Or a basement? That is where i lucked out because i have a huge dry basement!!! So i have ample space a joe room kids have a play room --(11,7,and 4 year olds) weight room area computer area bar 2 couches and a 60 inch tv if i didnt have thi space i would consider building a pole barn with a joe room but thats alot of money!! How about the attic space? Is it big enough to walk in ? As far as the wife goes --------maybe finish a hunnydo list first and then do yours!! Later doc Quote:

Ever thought about getting one of those tool sheds? Last i looked you can get like an 8 x 10 for about 300. Seal the crap out of any holes (insects). Run a electrical wire, put in a light, and the missus can't complain ;)
Its not the best answer, it would be nice to have a room in the house, but if you don't have the room its better then letting it sit in a box.

Hmmm..spoke with my wife about what you said and asked her to be in your wife's shoe and I'm in your shoes. Wanna kno what she said?...1st garage, basement, attic?? ( my joes are in the garage and is off limit to anyone BUT do not put the embossied foil in there without air system cuz when I did without air sustem, the embossied foil changed to silver. Boooooo!) then my wife said this which came to me as a suprise. She said she wants her own room if I'm gonna have a joe room. When asked her why, her answer was simply this..fairness. She can't go into my room without my permission so she expect the same thing with her room..what do everyone say about this? Yes even you samantha. =)

Well when me and my wife got married I told her I wanted a room to display my stuff and she could do whatever she wanted to the rest of the house. Well 7 years and 2 kids later (my son will be 2 tomorrow and my daughter is 11 months old tomorrow) my room i'm supposed to have has no become a small closet and my 2 shelves I have on the wall. I have given up on vehicles as I know that I would never get to display them properly and show them the justice that they are due so I'm only getting the vintage figures now and displaying them on my shelves.
My wife never had a problem with my idea of I get 1 room she gets the rest of the house....we just ran out of room with the 2 kids. I'm hoping 1 day to get a flagg and terrordrome but that's as far as I will go. Maybe tell your wife the same thing I did and see what she says. As far as the kid thing...well I let my 2 year old play with a few figures that I had doubles of and told him these were his and the others were mine. This seems to have worked very well as he doesn't touch my stuff just the figures I gave him and he likes to pull his little chair up to the shelves and stare at the others. |

If you figure this out, please let me know as I'm in the same boat. I don't own a Flagg, but would love to have my own "toy room" as well. Right now, my stuff is in boxes.
