Here's a full body shot of my Crankcase custom... I attached a screen shot of his comic appearance to show how much better the Club Footloose head is for Crankcase...

I was just thinking yesterday Crankcase was one of the 25th Joes that need a do over. Nice work guys. I have an extra Footloose head and I'm entertaining the idea of doing this now.

I never had either the vehicle or the figure, but always wanted both.

I thought his filecard implies a badass. Ranger qualified with SAS training. Then he came with FLN rifle which was a cool choice. I think the Awe Striker was the first dune buggy vehicle we saw which coincided with the ones we first saw in "Delta Force ".
Desert Patrol Vehicle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia My one complaint about the AWE Striker was the gun. What the heck is it supposed to be? The blueprints listed it as a 10-round 70mm automatic launcher (which sounds like a helicopter rocket pod), and in the Order of Battle it was listed as a 6-barrel 7.62mm minigun (which looks completely different). In one of the Marvel comics in Sierra Gordo they called the weapon a recoilless rifle, but most of those were too big for FAV/DPVs. A .50 or a 40mm grenade launcher or a 20mm cannon, or even something like a Milan would have made more sense. |

Original figure was great, definitely a missed opportunity with the 25th version. Poor parts choice by Hasbro. I dont mind re-using parts, if they're good, but those legs suck and that head sculpt is not Crankcase. Just plain lazy.
Rumbler is another underappreciated driver in my opinion. |

not sure how old i was but i was in gi joe full swing...my dad came back from a trip and brought home the awe striker. it was definitely a toy that got a lot of play time, and to the end crankcase got a lot of play time....until either his thumb or crotch broke.....speaking of that is a complaint of the past now days with modern era stuff.
the 25th figure i wanted to like a lot, but lets face it was crappy. i would love it if hasbro made a proper one in the modern era line.

As an adult I can appreciate his quality, good design and a driver with accessories.
But as a kid he was the first to die, German helmet and a ginger. The ginger tache made him look like my mates dad. |

Crankcase was always my standard Joe trooper. I picked up 8 of them through a Hasbro Canada mail order offer back in 1993/94. He just looked like a regular trooper to me and loved the rifle and helmet.
