How rare are the Funskool figures? I found some MOC and was just wondering if I should pick up more. Some of the colors are pretty crazy and the quality of the plastic isn’t as good as ARAH but they are still pretty interesting. I haven’t been able to find a good price guide for how much these things should sell for.

It Depends which year you picked up. The very first batch that came out in the late 80's and early 90's are the ones that are considered rare. The ones that were made around 2000 are not rare at all.

Djinvasor is correct, "vintage" Funskool is hard to find and extremely sought after by collectors. By a vast majority of the Funskool that can be found quite easily is from production runs circa 1999-2001.
The figures from the later runs were produced in OBSCENE numbers, I know Smalljoes.com had a vast array of them on his site for YEARS at a $3.95-ish price range. A general rule of thumb is that if you can find a funskool MOC, it is likely from these later runs and should NOT be all that expensive. That isn't to say "vintage" funskool figures don't show up, but they do so so rarely that unless you know EXACTLY what you are buying, I wouldn't spend more $5 on Funskool figure, and that's only MOC.

some of them are rare. there is a Snake eyes in blue and another color that is rare. 400-800 MOC The Superhero (superman) figure is nice to have 100+ MOC. But in gerneral OTHER THAN THAT, they are garbage and the cards are thin and subsequently GARBAGE...

^^^^ True. However, you gotta at least get that purple and orange Tripwire with "BOMB SQUAD" written across his chest. I mean, it's so outrageous it's classic (but not at all rare).

Haha, thanks guys for the responses. I didn't realize there were a couple of different production runs, I'm pretty sure the ones I found must be the later run.

I have a handful of these and they aren't as bad as everybody says. I have Flint, Quick Kick, Airtight, Crazy Legs, BBQ, Deep Six and a few others. They compliment the vintage figures very well and are suitable for play or display.

booksvolume1 The price guide part of it is fairly out of date, but has almost all known Funskool figures (as well as every other international variant) pictured in the guide. |

I agree. i've had '88 storm shadow, '91 cobra commander, '92 roadblock, and my favorite, crimson guard immortal. they are all part of my collection, except cc and roadblock I've sold. the only thing is I give them proper colored weapons, especially the immortal.
