The Crusader doesn't have the mounting tabs to connect to the Defiant booster.

Where is the best place for one to obtain a Defiant? Is eBay the only best outlet? Does a piece like this ever get listed for sale in the forum's Buy/Sell/Trade thread? Is it best to piece one together or buy one complete?

Probably ebay. That is how I got mine and I was lucky the seller was close, so I could just pick it up and avoid shipping it since so many pieces are so fragile.

Looking for a good pair of defiant doors. Sadly my current doors have deteriorated to the point i can no longer use them. I have a bunch of Defiant spare parts, paypal and an extensive BST. So if someone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

How do you store this monster? I have one that is in really good shape. I can pull the fins off the shuttle, but I am commissioning with the Army and need to store this thing for a while. What would you recommend? ANY help would be welcome. Please.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it all arrives safely. Will keep the forum posted either way.

Because of the blue doors, I personally think the best way to get a Defiant is whatever means allows for a personal pickup. Craigslist, toy show, collectable store, etc. If it is getting shipped, the dice are being rolled for sure. Those damn blue doors are just so brittle.

I contacted the seller last night and he has been very responsive. He did not get the chance to ship out my Defiant yet, so I was able to go over with him how fragile and lightweight the plastic is. I emphasized how thin and brittle the blue gantry doors are and to disassemble them from the crawler by removing the hinge pins. I'm still nervous everything will arrive safely, but I have faith in this seller.

I wish you the best of luck. Hope everything gets there ok. I had purchased a second one on ebay and it arrived ok. The second one was packed by the UPS store and they were warned about the blue doors. I did the same thing as you the second time and would talk to the sellers before even bidding.
Seller: "Actually found a box big enough to fit all of it and it will be safely bubbled wrapped beyond belief. Going out via UPS tomorrow. Sorry for the delay, but I wanted you to have it safely given the money you spent. Hope it arrives as well as it leaves and you enjoy it! Thank you so much." Me: "Thanks, were you able to separate the blue gantry doors from the hinges?" Seller: "No. As I began working on those it was clear they weren't coming off safely. Instead, we have packed the inside so full of bubble wrap, that they won't move. We've also packed the outside to reduce any pressure. If it happens to arrive in poor shape, we'll refund the purchase." Will it still arrive safely if he doesn't disassemble it? Now I'm getting worried. Also, he was originally going to send these in 3 separate boxes, but instead is now sending it in one big box.
