Nice! Though a pristine fresh-from-the-box one would be nice, there is also something to be said for restoring one. Mine was 85%ish and now I am only missing the umbilical cord (and no way in heck am I spending 100 bucks for a piece of plastic coated copper that I can get at Lowes for a fraction of that)
Good luck and enjoy the hunt! |

I picked up this Defiant today from another collector who was parting with it. Never had one as a kid but glad I have one now.

Question: is 2k too much to drop on a 100% complete Defiant with box and shipping carton? it's not sealed though. After reading most of this thread and seeing all the trouble one has to go through to acquire all the small pieces to complete one, I'm thinking it might be worth it to just buy on at this price and not have to worry about any of that. Am I nuts for even considering a defiant at that price? thoughts?

Is this local? If so, let him know that the shipping savings alone should warrant some sort of discount. Have cash in hand and offer 1000 and go from there.

That's a tough one... on one hand just getting it all at once is cool, but 2k ... yeesh. On the other hand just keep looking on eBay, conventions, here, etc... you can get one together for less if you're not interested in stuff like the box and shipper.

Yeah I think Xero is definitely right on the money. Cash is king. I have seen one sealed in its shipping carton sell for 2500 so if your willing to drop that much dough I would hold off. If you are set on purchasing this I would also suggest checking every pary. A friend of mine pick up an open box one some years back where all the baggies were sealed and the blue doors were broken in the box and the figures were mia. He did figure this out until it was two late an kicked himself in the ass for a long time for not double checking.

Those are some good points. IF you decide to do it, negotiate with the seller beforehand that you want to open it up before you leave (that's if you plan to open it), and make sure all parts are intact. If they are not, walk away or offer less cash.
