oh man.. saw this concept on a fellow tanker's thread about a uss flagg restoration.. can't wait to try it.
someone that has done this, can you PM me? want to know if sun/heat is required as a catalyst. it's cold & wintery here, wanna know if I need to wait until the spring to try the clear bin / peroxide treatment.

People have been using this trick on game systems and old Amiga cases, ect for a long while now. If you can afford to do so, get a large tub and dump a few gallons of the stuff in. Get a large piece of clear plexiglass or something similar to cover the top, so that sunlight can get in. After the session is done you can just drag the tub back in and cover it with the tubs lid for later use. You can also try setting up a UV light system instead of leaving it out in the sun all day.

as asked previously, does this alter the properties of the plastic at all? i'd hate to go through this only to make a vintage vehicle brittle.

I know this would dilute it, but if you wanted to submerge a flagg entirely, would adding a couple of gallons of water mess the process up? Maybe a dumb question, but I'm okay with that.

I imagine if you bought the 30% peroxide solution it might be okay. I doubt it would still work well with the 3% cheap stuff.

Heres my old yellow Stormtrooper, he actually looks worse in the pic. I need to remove the black paint i put on em. Then find some of this to whiten em. Not sure if you can see it, but on the back of his right arm he's been cut. This girl on the school bus had these scissors, i thought she was joking but she really cut em. I superglued it and it stayed together after that.
