AFA or MIB armor if you have it. AFA or MOC or pick you're favorite golden age and talk about it.
I'm more then burned out talking about the same "what ifs" and "why nots" as of late (as i'm sure most of you are) Let's go back to the days of yore and speak of good times. Let us share photos and stories of cherished Joes and Cobras, Mambas,Mobats and Maggots. So that we may forget these turbulent times for an hour or two. Pictures if you got em!

I'm just very happy to see no threads on the 7 pack or worse yet the petition thread up in current rotation. I guess we're having a happy night!

Well I for one would like to start a thread petitioning the 7 pack I think...nah I'm just kidding. Ok quick story, as if any of my stories are quick. But keep in mind this story is one of the reasons Im here. My 1st Joe anything was The Bridgelayer w/Tollbooth and a Tele-Viper, which I got for my 8th bday. Untill then I was strictly MOTU and HotWheels. VERY soon after that, (January) I was on the 1 Joe, every so often and ninjas were all the rage, so of course Storm Shadow was the be all and end all for me. I can remember searching non stop and asking incessantly for him, until we just gave up. Easter rolled around and I was a full Joe-head at this point. My mom used to do the whole, hide the eggs around the house, make up a basket filled with chocolate bunnies etc. That Easter sunday, before church, before my grandparents house, I woke up found my eggs and went for my basket and bam. Storm Shadow was inside of it..I freaked the hell out. I cannot EVER remember NOT having him in my pocket for a long time. And unfortunatly I remember exactly where I was when I lost him. Like a douche I was in a dept store with my mom and must have put him down or something and you guessed it, gone. I made my mother search everywhere with me, no luck, and when we shopped for him again..same thing. That was the original 84 SS and I never had him again. The other SS's totally werent the same.... A few months ago and over 20 someodd years later I walk into Target for washer fluid and passing the toys, who do I see? I picked him up and the rest is history.
Ya know my mom is damn cool. My dad was a good guy too but he was born and raised on the other side of world and couldnt always grasp the concept of figures, or comic books etc etc..so 90% of my collection, and it was a nice sized one, plus MOTU, plus, Marvel, DC, and whatever else was hot in those days came to me as a gift from mom and one of those "our little secret" type gigs. I dunno, I still have alot of my old Joes and when I look at them now, its not about what theyre worth, or ebay or anything like that. Those things are chapters in my life which gave me hrs upon hrs of sheer joy. Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes, Outback, Muskrat, Beachhead, Hit-n-Run, Duke, Dusty, Blizzard....(notice SS is a Joe here) Those were my favirote guys and each one was an intergral part of my childhood. They did everything from invade Cobra Island which was often the center of my bed, to take down Moss Man. I'm glad I have those old Joes, as cool as the 25th line is they have years of catching up before I could trust them to get the job done like I do my O.G. Squad lol. P.S. If anyone finds my original SS there is a cash reward. |

I was 8 years old when I got my first Joe figure. I was at a department store with my dad. I found an original 84 storm shadow just sitting loose on the shelf. so y'know finders keepers. lol couldn't resist pitviper.

My first joe was grunt. Who ending up wounded by an explosion and the only parts of him remaining are his torso and head and left arm with of course no thumb. Still got him though.

i like hearing the stories. Some memorable ones for me were: Got Quick kick as a gift for returning from the dentist office. Got Tomax/Xamot set in my easter basket one sunday morning, it was the coolest. My grandparents visited me, and happened to give me an eel. And i found Outback in a parking lot; i felt i was the luckiest person in the world that day.
