Around 87-88. I got heavy into music and the fairer sex. I worked at Circus World in 1990 and got back into it an caught up. Didn't buy anything after 1990 since I didn't like them and still don't. 1990 was the last great year for vintage Joes IMO.

86-87. I got a job and a car and pretty much got into reading the Executioner series and Louis L'Amour books in my free time. I then converted my collecting efforts to that series and author.
As a result of "growing up" I let my little brother play with my Joes. He claimed them for his own a couple years ago. So I started out new with the introduction of the 25th line. My little brother carried on the Joe tradition into the 90s and I still bought him an occasional Joe figure. With the Toxo line's introduction and not liking the "Save the Earth from the evil humans" mission, I left Joe like a bad woman and thought I would never return. Then along came the 25th and Modern Era . . . |

Stopped in 87 just because I was getting older. Picked it back up in 97 and collected off and on until the 25th Anniversary stuff. Now I'm cuckoo for Joes like it's 1985. But all along I was collecting Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Playmates Star Trek, Marvel Toy Biz, and a few other lines here and there.

the last year i recall having Joes from is 1991. I'm pretty sure i had Dusty, Mercer, Sci-Fi, Low-light and a few others from that year. that was also the year i turned 13, so i'd imagine that is the reason i stopped. i was pretty big into baseball, and must have decided to concentrate on that instead of toys. i have trouble remembering anything from before about 10 years ago, so i'm not positive, though.

Well, I was too young to get into the ARAH (90's kid here) so I never got the option to stop.
The joes only came back when I was 10 (yes, I had some Savage and Extreme, but even at 6 I thougt they sucked when compared to my brother's collection). Therefore I just started collecting, thinking this was what I missed in the 80s. I took a break in the DTC era because I didn't do on-line shopping yet, but I was back in full force after happening upon the Wave 1 Flint, Stormshadow and Snake Eyes. |
