I figure that I should post this latest Funskool find as well. It was offered publicly for sale here a few weeks ago. I have personally never seen one of these figures. It is a Funskool Scrap Iron but with green trim instead of red. It also lacks the paint on the gun/holster and the bullets (not sure what they are) on the other leg. Enjoy!

Are you sure that one was for sale at the 1996 joecon? I missed this year so I have no idea. I know for a fact one was sold in 1994 because I was there and it is also listed in the Christie's auction book. If you are correct it would be news to me and also mean that Hasbro had a few of these, which would be really cool to know

Yeah, I passed on that Scrap Iron as well....just wasn't sure that it was legit from the pic I got and didn't want to risk the asking price otherwise.
Like Nova, I'm bummed that the MOBAT is pretty much the same as the US version. I would have expected something more.....Funskool-ish....

There is so much about Funskool that is yet to be discovered, who knows there might be a variant color Mobat. I have heard of a Lime Green Zarana from a collector who was not willing to share photos. Not forgetting the Nilco stuff, who knows they might have variant colored figures and vehicles. Only time will tell. :-)

Hey Danny,
I just looked through my 1994 Convention Christie's auction catalog and could not find the Mobat. Here is a link to the 1996 auction catalog and on page 3 you will see the Mobat. Welcome to Joe Intel

Here are my latest international finds! I wanted to share so here are pics.
I was wondering how much the MOC stuff could be and how much the Estrela Cobra Trooper is going for nowadays. I´m definitely keeping him though I may sell Sparta, you can check her out among other international stuff on my B/S/T thread. |
