Hi. I'm hoping someone can help me out. I recently purchased a large GI Joe collection which included quite a few vintage Joe's. But there is one Joe that is puzzling me. It's made differently as if it were a salesman model or a prototype or something of that nature. Its head is rubber (squeezable) and on his mid back it says, "Made in Hong Kong" with a 4 digit number below it. Instead of string or rope it's held together with rubber band type of stuff. I cannot find any information on this Joe at all. Could it be an early prototype or a salesman version? Could it be valuable? Also, it's less muscular than the 1964 vintage Joe's and it has much different joints with large brass rivets. I would really appreciate any and all help. Im new to the forum here and not sure if I can post photos or not. Thanks in advance.

Upload a few pics of the figure and the markings and you will likely get your answer here.

Yes it's a 12" orig. Joe I will have to get familiar with the website and learn how to upload photos. I do have photos on my Iphone. The Joe has markings on the mid upper back and says, "Made in Hong Kong" No. 2012" That's it. Nothing else. I will try to load pics tonight. Thanks to all who have replied. I love this site by the way.

Even the 12 inch joes had Knock-Offs back in the day. Could be a Mego, Ideal, Rickenbacker or any number of 12 inch figures. The ruber band could even be a repair.
