The way I always do it is I buy large lots, peel off a few items to keep, and sell the rest. From a dollars and cents standpoint my collecting is a net positive for our bank account.
Its going to pay for 2 Catholic school tuitions and a trip to Disney World in 2013. |

This is the way I look at it. You have to be you or you’re going to be miserable. If you hide things eventually she will probably find out and you are living under stress of sneaking around. Just be yourself, do what you enjoy. If you’re a responsible person what does it matter. I think hiding all goes back to collectors thinking subconsciously or consciously that they are doing something wrong by spending money on toys. Be yourself if she loves you it won’t matter and if she doesn’t love you for you being you, then you should probably not be together.

To me that's just like being a whore (you, NOT her). Sorry, don't mean to sound like a d*ck, but that is essentially what it is. :( She either needs to accept you for what it you like and let you enjoy it, or YOU need to move on. That simple, again I've done it both ways. Take me as I am or we're done.................. .

Lol, I use credit cards that my wife does not even know that I have. So when I buy joes on ebay or anywere else she has no clue(knock on wood). And I go paperless on card statements, no paper trail.

[QUOTE=sbartek1974;4071486]Whenever I buy a bunch of Joes I tell my wife, "Baby, do you know how much of a return I can get back for these guys here?! I'm gonna hold out a few months and then ebay'em!" She falls for it everytime.
Yeah this is standard procedure for me too. It's just my guilty consience. My wife hardly ever says anything to me about Joes. Then this week she's like "hey christmas is coming up" I was like ok, why? She says well nothing it's just that you spent $900 on Joes last week. Then I go straight to the old I'm going to flip them excuse. Presto... works every time.

there is so many worse things we could be doing with our time and spending our money on. That's the way i look at it. If you are a responsible person and take care of your family, then big deal you buy toys. It makes us happy and that's all that matters. Everyday after work i go downstairs and look at my collection. It is such a stress reliever for me.
I think a lot of the times also women are jealous. Most women don't have hobbies like men do.

Sad that someone who's supposed to love you wants to control you that much.
