....then FEED THE NEED...I was doing a bit of Christmas shopping with my daughter and I came across a DIE CAST F-14 JOLLY ROGER SQUADRON fighter by FORCES OF VALOR. Its $24.99, host of missiles and fuel tanks, swing wing and landing gear, also has a transparent stand. Needless to say, my wife gave me a lovely gift. It was in Target.
Its very detailed and it reminds me why I still really am hungry to have this aircraft re-made by HASBRO, its the coolest jet ever. Hands down. |

Never had one as a kid. I had the Conquest but the Skystriker would be cool to get for my son now.

Isn't that the squadron that shot down those Libyan migs when President Reagan was in office?
I remember that from when I was a kid. A fan of the Tomcat ever since then.

Nope, just checked it. the Black Aces shot down those Libyan jets in 1981.
From Wikipedia...... While on deployment in the Mediterranean Sea on August 19, 1981, during a routine combat air patrol mission over the Gulf of Sidra, two Libyan Su-22 “Fitter” aircraft were shot down by Black Aces aircraft. The incident marked the first Navy air combat confrontation since the Vietnam War and the first ever for the F-14A Tomcat. It was the first time a variable wing geometry aircraft shot down another variable wing geometry aircraft. More on the Gulf of Sidra incident........http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_of...incident_(1981) The Jolly Roger Squadron was featured in the movie "The Final Countdown". Time travel. Always a favorite story theme of mine.

Probably not. It's diecast. Diecast and $24.99. It's small 1/72 scale.

Sorry SimplyGriff, just seeing an F-14 out on the shelves just got my hunger going again. I love what SUPERFLANKER did with his SKY STRIKER and frankly, I just want to see TARGET or TRU make that bold move and put it up on the shelf again-spend the money and make it happen HASBRO!! The classic Sky Striker fits into the same box as the ELITE OPS F-18, can you imagine a new XP-14F with 2 figures, ladder and full missle set. It can totally happen.
