I know that some people never stopped collecting, but most of us lost interest at some point when we reached a certain age. So I was just wondering how far you got with the original line.
I had just about every figure (almost) until 1990. I was just looking at some figure databases, and the only ones from 1991 and after that I really recognize are ones that my little brother had. I turned 12 in 1990 and started 7th grade...so I guess I was getting to the point where I was more interested in girls than little plastic men. Plus, I learned of the existence of Slayer and Metallica and Anthrax, and metal started to consume my world. |

yeah, about 87-88, really slowed down only getting the specific figures and not everyone, similar intrests music and girls..also most of my friends were about 2 years older than me, so nobody else was into it....i boxed all mine up, and saved them for if i ever had kids....well, 32 now with 2 boys (7-11) and starting all over again with the 25th line....awesome if you ask me

I think I stopped at in 1989. When I look at figures released in years after that I don't really recognize many/any of the them. By that time I was 12/13 and really started getting into comic books. I am sure I kept reading the Joe comics, but most of my interests switched over to superheroes. I also start to take more interest in music and art at that time.

I would say 1988 for me. I was 13 and interested in other things like Sports, girls, music etc. My Joe collecting went on about a fiive year hiatus. It really picked up steam with the 97 Toys R Us re-issues and I haven't stopped since.

Stoped? Well I guess in 1995 after they cancelled the line, but I still kept buying at flea markets and comic shops. I was never too cool or too old for Joes.

1993. I hated almost all the 94 Joes. Hated the neon that had consumed them by that point. I did get the 94 Shipwreck though.
About a year after the Joes were off the shelf I started buying the old Joes that my friends had here and there. I went to a store in 1998 and it was full of clearanced joes. I bought a TON of vehicles at that point, and my collecting days began full force after that. Started Ebaying etc.. So I've really only had a full year break since I've started buying joes. I didn't buy much during the sigma six era of Joes though. Pretty much started buying Ferrets(the DEMON driver) through ebay and that was it. |

1990-1991 maybe. That's pretty much when I stopped toys all together. I started up again this year, but I'm only interested in the 25th line, and only in figures that I had or wanted as a child. So that means no Wraiths or Bazooka Vipers for me. Bring on Tunnel Rat! haha.
