Like every line of figures this line, VvV/Spy Troops, (I beleive both to be related) have there hits and misses.
Some of the figures, such as the Neo Vipers, Sand Troopers, Frostbite, Hacker, most of the pilot figures were good looking figures. Others with the very noticable shoulder joint were not so cool looking, especially the female figures. Nothing says feminity like large bulky shoulders. None the less some of that was corrected in figures such as Bombstrike and GI Jane with the inverted shoulder. I beleive that if this was done on a different version of the Baroness, Scarlett, and a redo on Lady Jay, we would definately not have seen so much of the, as one commenter stated, transvestite looking figures. Let's look at what also came out in this line, some awesome vehicles. I still ignore the snake head HISS's that came out (inspite that my son loves them...he's only 6), but we saw the Night Attack Chopper, Patriot Grizzley, RHINO(I know it came later, but I had to mention it) cobra Ringneck, Adders and so on. And yes therer were some not so great vehicles, especially some of the smaller vehicle with 'Sound Attack' I was not a huge fan of that feature especially the guns having the big unsightly tabs on them. Let alone, Cobra Commanders staff having a tab...a ceremonial staff that shoots? heh. And speaking of guns, some of the new weapons were great, some of the smaller pistols w/ silencers just rocked (some came with the televiper, also a nice figure) and looked so James Bond like. Definately covert looking, or great for 'hitman' like jobs. We also saw a better SPAS 12 shot gun come out, better Sub machine guns/M4 rifles, some great looking pistols, and even a smaller sniper type rifle. However Hasbro still needs to work on making a better .50 cal sniper rifle, Marauders Inc. has mastered that one. So again, I like to look at the whole line, I still like the O-ring construction wich is a plus for customizing, and as I said there are always soem draw backs to every line or wave that comes out. As for another comment stated earlier refering to the GI Joe Extreme figures...definately not a line I ever became interested in, but I have seen some cool vehicles from this line that I would love to try and customize. As for the characters of that line, some great ideas, I would like to see an Iron Claw (sp) figure produced in 3 3/4", but then again I would like to see a variant on the Lt. Stone maybe mixed with the Sigma 6 version...what can I say, I love the eye patch and berett. Sorry for rambling, put I couldn't resist getting my opinion stated. |

I hated the fact that exclusives sets were mostly repaints of old style figures. I hated the way the old joes looked against the VvV body style. It just didn't look right to me to pose them together.

I vote yes . just because of the new characters (joes, and cobra).
plus , now we get to use the gear for our 25th customs, has any one done any VvV characters , in 25th style ? besides Bombstrike , and Kamakura ...

Some of the vehicles were ok. I didn't like that version of the hiss. Some of the vehicles had those plug in gun slots that make sound but it looks odd with a gun just sitting on the side of a vehicle.
