Slaughter's Marauders. Everyone of those guys ended up with broken thumbs in less than a few months of playing with them. In fact I remember opening up Spirit, putting on his backpack, and sticking his gun in his hand only to find his thumb broke. Loved the concept, but hated the execution.
and the Battle Corps figures...lots of accessories didn't make up for the piss poor color schemes. |

I have to say Ninja Force. The colors were a WTF moment but the Spring Action crap is what pissed me off than anything. My regular Joes were more articulate and be posed in more martial arts stances/moves then the freaking ninja team!!! And to top it off there are no screws so you can't just remove said springs!!!
I would love for these to be redone in better colors and no spring action!!! What the hell was Hasbro thinking. A close second was the neon colors on figures and weapons. They went into too many directions at once except for straight up military and realism. |

Everthing after the 1989 waves was nothing but junk it got away form the main theme of the line. Bright neon colors and spring loaded weapons.

None really, I was so limited as to what I could get I took 30 minutes to decide. My favorite of all time as a kid was the snowmobile. Man I loved that thing.

As much as I hate the Cobra-La story line I like the Enforcer. When I got the toy i was expecting giant retractable elbow blades full scale wings...etc. Instead I got a purple figure and it took me a minute to figure out who it was..... I was like WTH? The Ninja Force Zartan and Snake Eyes (Solid Crotch) were also a huge letdown)

I disliked Globulous' ability to stand on his own as well. What's funny is my brother and I had a Nerf ball (the 8" diameter one) that had a crater in it that ended up getting a hole dug further in. Just for fun I placed Globulous in the hole and he actually looked pretty good! (like in the movie) So I grabbed 4 toothpicks to steady the ball and that's how Globby was used in my room. He came out of the ball at the end of the movie anyway so I liked having him look like the way he was in the majority of his scenes.
I have since gotten rid of my complete collection (back in the day) and recollected a few things. The new Globby I have has a color matching neon green ball for him to sit in (the old one was yellow). As for disappointments, the overall disappointment I has was when they stopped focusing on true military specialties (Infantry, Artillery, Munitions, Commando, etc) and made up new ones for the bright colored figures (Battle Force 2000, Super Trooper, Hand-to-Hand combat specialist who is a fottball player, Fast Attack Expert, Shoreline Defender, Directed Energy Expert, Eco Warriors, Bunker Buster, First Strike Specialist, Heavy Fire Specialist, etc). That "chincified" (made it Chincy) the who concept of GIJoe. I disliked the brighter colors as far as bieng military figures, but liked them enough that it was something new.
