As we got into the '92-94 line ups I was getting a lot less, but still was picking up a few figures when I could. As a kid I was pretty much always only interested in characters I didn't already have so that cut down the numbers a lot since a much smaller number of those 92 to 94 figures were new characters. My last figure (until I got into collecting again as an adult) was actually the first Sgt. Savage figure that came with the VHS tape.

After '91 I cherry picked the line until the very end; last few figures I remember being stoked to find in store were the Commemorative 30th Anniversary Figures. After those & the mail-in Colton, I focused on Sgt. Savage & the 12" figures. In the following years I moved onto Cotswold, 21st Century's Ultimate Soldier, etc., until I picked up on 1/18 Joes again @ TRU in '97, & have been collecting non-stop since (still filling holes in vintage line, '97 - today sitting at about 99% complete).

When they started riding Power Wheels and shooting each other in the neck, I was out.

I was all in from 1982 to 87. As I was entering high school in 88, I only bought one figure; and that was Road Pig. The Dreadnoks were my favorites back then and they were the last for me to let go of. I still checked out the toy aisles, but repaints, like Python Patrol, Night Force & Tiger Force kept me away. I picked up a couple of joes after high school, during the 92 to 94 years. I was completely out for Sgt. Savage, Extreme & Sigma Six. I was back in, at full force in 2002, for the Joe vs. Cobra line; and have been in ever since. I found the Hisstank as word of a G.I. Joe movie was going to be made, around 2008. This has been my daily hangout ever since.

1989 Countdown and SNAKE EYES (v3), I was in high school and could not resist even though I had not bought a Joe in about 2 years. I was too old or so I thought. But, I had seen the new Tim Burton Batman movie and wanted to play it with cool toys. The under articulated Batman figures did not cut it.
There I was in KB Toys store taken back by their coolness. They called me and did not disappoint. |

I had to buy a Snow Serpent because it looked so cool - it was the only ARAH toy I ever bought. It disappeared years ago.

I bought clear thru 94. I have very vivid memories of hitting up Kmart and checking out Destro v3 and wanting to buy him but never having the money to get him. Although the one time I did have money I bought Firefly v2 instead.

I went through to the end, too, hardcore style. My collection was mostly neon. Damn you all who stopped buying for any reason! You killed Joe!

1987 was my last full year and at that point, I still got all the figures, but the only vehicle I got was the Coastal Defender. The last figure I got was the 1988 Iron Grenadier, I was 12 then, so I was just done with toys in general. I did buy a Captain Grid-Iron, but that was it for me until 2012 when I got the itch again and now have just about every figure and vehicle from 82-92 (my unofficial cut-off for now...)
