What is the best way to remove the propeller blades from a 1986 Tomahawk? I need to remove them, but I am afraid I will break them. Any advice?

I was thinking of putting a knife in the slotted area and prying up on the top piece that holds them in. Does this help, or would you not recommend it?

When I sold two Tomahawks I used a screw driver to pry the two halves of the rotor apart enough to pop the blades out. I wrapped the screwdriver in scotch tape to avoid scratches.

yes, a flat head screw driver into the slots between the blades and slowly and carefully rotate the screw driver. The head will make the round thing split easily to remove the blades.
Don't use too much force or the slots will crack or get stress marks. |

A flat, thicker butter knife works well too, but the insertion tabs may still crack or break. I've only broken one tab...good luck.
