Pulled the trigger and made a big purchase - 1997 A-10 Thunderbolt. The A-10 is my favorite real world military aircraft - looking forward to getting this and putting it together!

I do, at least through 02. And the way I see it, there's only a 3ish year separation between ARAH and the tru-JvC, so still vintage to me. Excellent choice, on my bucket list for sure.

I'd say this is the right thread to post that in. There's some good stuff released in those years. Oktober guard, convention sets, army builder 3 & 6 packs etc.

Still need to acquire 98 Red Star/Big Bear (Col Brekhov/Lt. Gorky), the 98 Vipers, 98/2000 Heavy Duty, 2003 Tiger Force and I should be pretty much all set with my figure collection save the impulse random vintage purchase. I was hoping to get a 2005 TRU Moray Hydrofoil tonight but got sniped at the last second on ebay. That's probably my last big vehicle purchase I want to make. It's crazy that they are typically going for $200 a pop. |

Turns out i'm a lying sack of shit - after stating how I only had a small number of 97-2005 figures I wanted to purchase I went out and bid on one lot of 1990 figures and accessories and one lot of 1991 figures and accessories. Had to do it lol.

It's nice to find others who appreciate that era. I consider any of the ARAH vintage molds for vehicles/figures re-used during the 97-2005 runs to be worthwhile and things to add to my collection. The plastic is slightly softer and I feel won't be as prone to crotch and elbow cracks as it ages. That is my biggest hesitation with a lot of the original 82-94 run. I just got a Sky Patrol Airborne and wanted to complete the set but after getting him and the two cracked elbows he had just kind of turned me off to trying to get the whole set.

There's always something more to be added. I'm at the point though, where everything I'm looking to add is rare and overpriced. Examples: Horror Show, Big Lobb, Hotwire, Hannibal, Night Force Shockwave, Cobra Mortal, General Mayhem, Tiger Force Beachhead, etc.

The Hammer is a vehicle I really like - probably one of the best vehicles the line ever released but it's so damned big - being so out of scale threw me off when I had it in the past. I may end up completing it as more of a long term project just for the sake of having it and throw some Modern Era Figures in it. The Patriot - no one wants that vehicle anyways so I will just complete it and throw it on my 90s vehicle shelf. |
