I just got back from a local K-Mart (yeah I don't know why either), and was surprised to see that where they previously were not carrying any JOE figures, they had a few of the POC wave 2. Yeah I know that it is just wave 2 and that everybody and their mothers are looking for Wave 4 and Wave 5, but I thought this might be a good sign of things to come.
Is it possible that with new blossoming trees and spring time leaves that GIJOE POC could start making a resurgence at the retail chains whihc had previously ceased to carry the line? |

I saw that in my Kmart too, but I'm pretty sure it was a Wave 4 revision case where someone had already snagged the low light & shadow tracker (everything else is older).
Good news though, maybe they'll have more when the new waves show up. |

POC waves 1 & 2 have been at my K-Mart since they were first released.
The way things are going, toys won't even be in stores anymore. We'll all be forced to shop at BBTS. I noticed Walmart reduced the action figures to only 1 side of 1 aisle. |

The Walmarts in my area officially put all Joe product in their clearance section over the last two weeks. They are still full price somehow.
Target stores just aren't ordering anything flat out. I wonder if trucks are waiting for more product to ship all at once but its taking forever for something new to appear. Toys R' Us is the same. My closest one has 2 RoC Storm Shadows at $8.99 each. I don't think the manager gives a damn if they have two year old pegwarmers taking up space on the floor. The one K-mart still standing in my region of Maryland doesn't have any Joes. Things aren't looking up for us collectors in Maryland. Hopefully its much different in other areas...

Yeah, I feel that too, but I think it has to do with the Walmart's pushing overtaking the other Specialty toy shops and putting them out of business, then getting kicked in the nuts with the poor sales of the ROC movie line figures; iron man figures; and every other movie line that has not sold. So ultimately now that they have forced everyone else out of business, they have decided to walk away from the barren wasteland and move onto another market that they can decimate. They should change their name from "Walmart" to "Locusts".
Hopefully this changes soon. |
