I am a MOMC collector. Can anyone here speak of the the conditioning of the figures shipped by Hasbro?

Sounds cool.
Did you do the Army pack like I did? 1 each of the following: Ninja Ku BAT Snow Serpent Python Patrol Trooper Cobra Viper Note that shipping actually goes up a dollar or so if you order over 5 figures. I floated at 4.84 for shipping. Keep in mind that you are going to pay 4.84 or equivalent if you go store to store paying for these things. Taxes, Sir. Taxes, taxes taxes. The average sales tax for me is just at 9 percent. 7 bucks average for a figure plus 63 cents in taxes is obviously 7.63. Even with the 5 off 25 coupons, I don't see that much savings if I start calculating my time, energy and gas expenditures. All of which are very important to me in the coming recession/inflation.

The majority of my figures arrive in cardboard boxes with plastic "air bags" for packing. No crushed bubbles or large creases. Occasionally (about 1 in 5 Joes) has a tiny crease (which is not really noticeable) . They are a great company for me though because (as I mentioned before) I hate scouring the planet for these things, and HTS is appropriate for Army building at this very moment. Once the BATS are gone, I anticipate it taking 2-3 weeks before they have them up again in large quantities. |

Granted you might be right, I am inclined to believe that GI Joe prices are going to go up again this summer. I anticipate the accursed 7.49 that hit Indiana Jones will also hit GI Joe.
I also believe that BATS will be impossible to find. I could be dead wrong about that, but I won't have to worry about it anymore because of my online purchase. I hate hunting these days because it is such a colossal waste of time, energy and money. As for your Army building comment, I hope that applies to the single packs more than anything. Hasbro's Ninja Watch 5 pack figures are very cheap compared to the original Red Ninja single packs. One might make the same argument about the Cobra Legions 5 Pack Stinger Driver's plastic being cheapened as compared with the Blue Cobra Officer in 2007. Me? I like my armies constructed from the single packs, and I hate hunting. That's why I posted this thread so that people who like online Army building will have their chance too. Just my .02. |

This thread benefits not only army-building collectors but non-army-building ones for we spend a bit more (less than 10 cents for my order) for each fig from HTS than Walmart but save lot on time and gas. I just thought you worried out they remove SE from site a bit excessively. Sorry for misunderstanding. Thanks for the heads up.
We are in total agreement there. Each trip to (Insert name of Store here) costs me on the average 15-30 minutes (depending on traffic and weather conditions). Heck, it takes me 5 minute alone go walk from my car to the Joe aisle, and another 5 back. 10 minutes in the store at my most efficient, and I haven't even accounted for the traffic I am going to deal with getting into and out of the store area. Now, just imagine my anger when I do this 10 or so times over the span of 4 weeks with NOTHING to show for it. I definitely agree with you on saving time and money. There are so many pursuits we can allocate our time to other than running to "brick and mortar" stores that contain nothing of interest to us. Last edited by Frostbite; 05-16-2008 at 05:29 AM.. |
