great article. i wont give any spoilers, go read it fellas.
ive got some more ideas of poc necessities... i excluded anything we have already seen on the horizon. 1. major bludd ~ 25th was pretty bad. this could be a great figure. 2. tomax, xamot ~ we have the 25th circus freak outfits, now we need the business men attire. 3. footloose ~ yeah man... like we need a good footloose update man, like totally. 4. serpentor ~ 25ths ALL sucked. 5. airtight ~ with the quality of the new sci-fi. just give him more weapons than just his old dirt devil. 6. lifeline ~ um yeah... 7. thrasher and the thunder machine ~ this could be EPIC awesome! I vote for a 1965 Chevy Impala. 8. tele-vipers ~ how about they include 2 heads with this one. one full mask and one close to og. 9. leatherneck ~ bad a** like the poc beachhead. 10. jinx ~ of course.

I'd love a new Jinx, too.
And holy mercy, the Thunder Machine... wow. Great call. I was kitbashing some attempts at a new Footloose the other day. The most successful one was PoC Jungle Duke's body... with PoC Dusty's head. I know it sounds weird, but I kinda liked the look. |

Hey, I'll second that.
As to the article, 'twas excellent, could not have agreed more with 5, and found myself nodding thoughtfully at the others, my opinions gently swayed as if in a warm summer breeze of explosive ass-kicking action. ... Okay, that came out weird. Still and all, enjoyed the article!

The article was great - and it got me thinking, too!
It was actually harder than I thought to limit this just to iconic characters, and not go crazy naming all my personal favorites. Luckily, some of my favorites are also iconic! 1) Gung Ho - I don't feel the need to explain why. Such an epic character deserves an equally epic figure. 2) Leatherneck - See above. Both of these first two characters are Recon Marines - I'd love to see their figures play that up! 3) Torpedo - Without a wetsuit, please! Maybe with an outfit and weaponry that can be used for Sea, Air or Land??? Sort like RoC Shipwreck, but even better! 4) The Devilfish - who didn't love this thing??? 5) Scarlett - Super-articulated (like Helix) + not ugly or cartoony. 6) Lady Jaye - Similar to what I'd like to see for Scarlett. If only there were a way to equip the figure with Mary McDonald Lewis' amazing voice - LOL! 7) Jinx - This needs to happen for too many reasons to list. Oh, and we'll require masked and unmasked heads. Thanks! 8) Major Bludd - His 25th figure was terrible for such an awesome character. All these new Cobra Troops we saw at Toy Fair are going to need a combat leader... 9) The Dragonfly - if you say Dragonhawk, I'll hit you. I liked the Dragonhawk, but it's not up to the Dragonfly's level of coolness. 10) Short Fuze - okay, so he's not exactly an icon. But he's a great character, one of my all-time favorites, and his 25th figure was easily the worst of all the Original 13 characters. Last edited by Sgt Humpty; 03-06-2011 at 09:04 PM.. |
