I bought the HISS Tank V5, and for anyone who read my review, you know I like it and recommend it. However, it's not perfect, and honestly, the HISS II STILL PREVAILS OVER ALL OTHER HISS TANKS. The HISS II did something that only the DTC HISS managed to do; carry more troops and have a lot of fire power!
The Resolute HISS looks awesome. THAT's what I would have liked to see in toy form. I mean if Cobra is developing some uber-powerful machine of utter decimation on treads, THAT's what it should look like. The HISS V5 looked like a futuristic tank that lacked firepower and couldn't carry troops. Well 1 guy shoved in the back but that was it. The HISS Tank V5 is cool. It is significantly larger than the original. It is just a bigger HISS altogether. Yet I think we could get something better, possibly in Renegades. Something with:

I don't know. I'm still a fan of the original design, especially the 25th remakes, the arctic one in particular. I love my HISSV. The only downside I see to it is that the treads don't work smoothly. I hope they don't get discouraged with their effort though. Workable treads, much like rubber tires are really a nice touch. It was a great idea, the execution just needs some work.

I'm hoping the 30th gives us a revamped classic Hiss with working treads.

Honestly, I like the Hiss V for the very reason you seem not to. It's not confused about what it is. It's designed for the sole purpose of rushing, blowing its load, and hauling ass out of there before an Abrams can even rev its engine. It's a destroyer, not a battleship, and its designed with that type of combat in mind. It's a F-18 compared to a C-130, an Apache Longbow vs a Chinook.
Now, I would personally love to see a decent cobra troop carrier, but something that performed the same function as a Bradley would realistically only be as lightly armed. |

A further thought on the v5. I think it's really menacing and beautiful. If the spring mechanism worked correctly, I think everyone would like it a lot more. And it seems like it could work better. If you apply pressure to the front while it's locked down, thus lifting the back end up, it rolls really freely and solidly. I've been trying to figure out a way to get it to do that without manually holding it, but I'm not mechanically inclined. I thought about a rubber washer inside the circular area where the top piece inserts (I know this is probably making no sense) just to force the spring-hinged clip to hold it tighter, but it didn't work.

That would be crazy. It'd be cool if they also made openable compartments in the sides to store weapons, and gear. You know, given all the success members here have had with LED kits. I'd like to see many updates of classics with workable treads, rubber wheels, and working lights.
