I opened all three of mine, and plan to glue those goggles on. I'm really happy with the way these turned out. I'm not much for Army building, but I want to get at least one more so I have as many as I did from the original ARAH line 20 yrs ago.

I bought 4 for my little boy to have a "cobra army" to go against the Joes. That number is up to six now, I forgot I ordered 2 when I ordered the hiss drivers from Brians Toys. they are my sons favorite cobra soldiers so far. Just wait till he sees the BATS!!!!!!!!. I also must say they are my favorite of the army builders so far, just wait till I get my hands on the BATS!!!!!!!!!!!

ok, i just found, bought and opened my first 2 vipers. after all the suspense and drama, i honestly have to concurr with many of the senitments posted in this thread. the figure itself is AWSoME to look at but one of the worst in terms of play value. between the feet that won't adjust properly, goggles that simply will not stay on, horrible flint liek wrist/arms and hands/fingers soo soft as to be utterly worthless. both of mine will not even hold the stock rifle as the fingers simply bend out at the slightest touch causing him to drop his rifle. the opooosite hand is worthless for trying to hold the rifle as well do to the wrists. did i mention the backpacks won't stay on either. the slighest breath causes them to simply slip out.
i'm almost at a loss for words really. this is, next to crimson guard, my favorite figure and now that i actually have one, it soo does not live up to my expectations in terms of ability to do much of anything with it. i had lofty plans for army building to rival my crimson guards but i can honestly say, that will not happen now. i'll buy what i want to fill vehicles and canon fodder for my son but i'll have to go back to army building crimson guards as i can atleast do something with them beside sit them in a vehicle. let me reiterate, he looks AWSOME! he's sh*&% to play with. i guess i'll just admire him moc which is all he seems to be good for.

I'm still surprised at all the negativity. I've had no issues with the feet; turn them to the sides, and the leaning issue is corrected in mere seconds. I don't usually use backpacks, anyway, but when I first opened them, I placed them all on their stands with the packs. They stay in place perfectly with no issues at all. I've removed the vests and replaced them with no problem. The goggles all seemed to fall off when I opened the packages, but once I put them back on (no glue involved), they stayed in place. None of them has had any difficulty holding their rifles, although I do plan to replace those when the next wave of weapons is available from John.
I'm sorry that some of you are disappointed, but I love this figure. In fact, I think the only improvement Hasbro could make would have been to include interchangeable hands for the Viper. Lots of companies do this with their figures, like a removable open hand that can be swapped out for a fist. That would have been a great idea for this figure. Other than that, I'm a big fan. |

what this seems to point to is a wide degree of fluctuation in quality. how else can i explain the speghetti hands both of mine have (litterally soft as speghetti), or the googles that refuse to stay on or backpacks that simply don't have the tolerance in the peg to provide a goof friction fit? you should not have to turn feet out to get it to stand properly. thats a band-aid fix vs. a solution. i've never had any of these issues with crimson guard other than the daiper crotch which still sucks.
i have no doubt some of you have very good vipers. it's frustrating to see so many that aren't

I have 4 vipers. They look great but I do wish they had switchable hands. Please hasbro, help us out here. The hands are a bit ridiculous. I love the look but playability and realism is out the window with those gimpy hands. Cobras vipers deserve better.
