Share the list of things you learned about collecting GIJoe from collecting GIJoe. This is mine:
1. The first Night Raven is the one and only unanimity among GIJoe collectors. 1.5. There's not going to be a debate about #1 above, only agreements and additions. 1.7 There're going to be debates about the additions to #1 above. 2. You can never have enough Cobra troops. The more, the better. Hasbro should really give us Troopers 5-packs, Officers 5-packs, Crimson Guard 5-packs, BAT 5-packs and so on. Forever. 2.5. Hasbro should really cut to the chase and give us 5-packs (or as-many-figures-as-needed-packs) with all variations of every character of every new --and old-- wave. 3. Duke from GIJoe Comic Book 2-Pack (with Red Star) is the best Grunt figure. Ever. (It only needs a quick head swap. And webgear swap, MAYBE.) 3.5. There's going to be a debate about #3 above. 3.7. Actually, there are going to be at least THREE debates about #3 above: (a) Duke NOT being the best Grunt figure ever; (b) About the REAL best Grunt figure ever; (c) If the webgear swap is really needed so Duke becomes the best Grunt figure ever. 4. If it was in the cartoon, comic books, animation or movie, I want it. Or someone does. Hasbro should provide us with it. (But see #4.5, bellow.) 4.5. Customization is part of collecting. Hasbro not always gives someone what he or she wants (be it heads, weapons or equipment. Or colors, camo, the perfect shine. Not even all the needed figures - or packs of them! ) 5. This thread was supposed to be fun. Yeah, don't ask. |

There is no reason that Hasbro cannot do something similar to the Masters of the Universe line, for characters, vehicles, and large playsets that they KNOW collectors want, but for a variety of reasons will not sell at retail.
I NEED A 25th/Modern Era fleet of Cobra Moray's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Any joe product that remains on the self/peg longer than a week is officially declared as self/peg-warming and thus shall be shunned.

1. GI Joe fans whine, but not as much as Transformer fans. Also, GI Joe fans don't carry the same arrogance as some overweight, bearded TF nerd.
2. Collecting GI Joes is much, much less frustrating than collecting Star Wars figures. For every Snake Eyes version, there are about twice that many Anakin Skywalkers or Clone Troopers clogging up their line. 3. You can never, ever have too many guns. 4. You can have too many ninja weapons. Seriously, what the hell? 5. Sometimes, it's really hard to justify spending $8.00 on a figure because of his guns or gear. 6. Internet shopping is the safe way to go. 7. Some chicks think it is "adoreable" and actually love my collection. You'd be surprised how many intelligent women don't have a problem with it. 8. Snake Eyes is my favorite character, despite him being constantly re-made. And I only give a damn about 3 versions of him one of which is pre-ordered. (FYI- v2 5-Pack, City Strike, and PoC Wave 3) 9. Storm Shadow is probably the most boring character in the whole lineup of characters. Of course, the Desert Battle version was wicked. 10. Vehicles take up a lot of space. 11. AK-47's are in short supply, despite being the most widely used rifle in the world. 12. Resolute Zartan looks much more awesome with a bow than PoC Spirit. 13. Store Exclusives are either complete suck/fail, or pretty cool/decent kitbash. 14. Damned near every figure I have has someone else's weapon (except Crimson Guard). 15. Bumping into a fellow collector in a store tends to be a moment of brotherly kinship, discomfort, and spiteful disgust at the same time. |

1. No-one will ever agree about anything regarding Rise of Cobra. No exceptions.
2. Rule #1 is not an exception. |

Even if you have a minty selection of loose foreign joes up for auction, everyone will still bid on the Starduster.
