To answer your question,.....yes....I do need 50 vipers. If and when I decide that I want to spend my money on them! |

You signed up to a collectors board and have 53 posts in what? A couple of days? Waaaaaaay too obsessive for a the average parent looking to get some toys for their kid. I think we know who really wants these figures and it's not your kid.
If all you really want is to find a few figures on the pegs like you say, stop wasting time on this board and go get them. They ARE NOT all gone by 8:15 AM you are just being melodramatic. I NEVER go to the store when they open, only when I happen to be in the area. I have everything I could want with the exception of the new wave. I really don't know why you want to waste time arguing with a bunch of toy collectors on the internet, sign off and spend some time with your kid, for Christ’s sake. You could have fun hunting for toys together. If you're not a collector, you really have no reason to be here. |

Cobras look good in numbers - it's built into their very concept: They're a terrorist army and I like them to be so represented on my shelf.
Personally I'm happy with 2 to 3 of each trooper type, but even if I wanted 55 of each, I'd expect to be allowed to pursue my hobby without inviting tacit implications that I'm a selfish git ruining some kid's day. Who made you ref? Quote:

Joes because you collect them, or do you collect them because you love them? If it's the former, you shouldn't buy them at all. I nailed your mom Last edited by myotis; 05-02-2008 at 07:39 PM.. |

Now you're talking like a person who makes sense. But I stand by my statement, you contradicted yourself pretty well there. Either you support a collector who's capable of buying his fill or you want to fight the guy cleaning a shelf for his own purposes, can't have both. Even if we were capable of buying directly from Hasbro... [Which I think is the idea behind HTS.com, come to think of it] someone could easily buy say, 1 million of a figure and pretty much hoard the production for the next what year? In truth, distribution through stores gives the average individual a better chance of finding their needed figures as it is pretty much a crapshoot as to when and where figures will show up.
For example, Wal-mart here seems to randomly stock toys at various hours of the day. Target may get a case in, but hold it in the back till a Sunday afternoon. It all boils down to being in the right place at the right time when it comes to hunting. |

The way I see it the 25th Anniversary Joes are for us. If Hasbro wanted to release new sculpts of old characters they would have done so without the added 25th anniversary push. They are designed and packaged to appeal to the kids now adults who had them as children. Have you seen one commercial for them? The only advertisements I have ever seen have been in Toyfaire and Lee's. I am all for kids buying whatever they want. If they want to get into Joes then great. I think it is right on when people say dont use your kids as an excuse to buy them. I have a daughter and when I started collector heavily a few years ago I told everyone it was so she could see what daddy grew up with. Nope it was all for me. The only thing I hate is when someone a scalper /opportunist whatever you want to call them sees whats hot for collectors and since they dont have regular jobs they go out and buy everything they can find and 20 minutes later they are on evilbay.
