I refuse to answer this on the grounds that my answer could be used in divorce proceedings.

Wow, was I late to the bus on this one!?
Dude seriously, you're in the way-wrong place to try and win this argument and really haven't made any solid points at all? It isn't your place to tell any of us how, when or why to collect this line. You may feel that your on a crusade of sorts for the poor kiddies that don't have "cool characters" but as was stated before, this line is collector inspired and driven. It's great that your son digs the line, it really is, but if he wants certain characters that you can't find then man-up and do some ebay or e-tailer shopping and call it a day. All you've accomplished with this thread is offending all of us silly, greedy, hoarding die-hard collectors! .....and Amberbratt is a female so you might want to check the right box if you're sending her a hooker. I could prove it scientifically too, all I'd have to do is hook up a heart rate monitor to you (or any collector) and one to my son. I would then show each of you a new G.I. Joe in the package. My hypothesis is that the child's heart rate would increase dramatically, while yours would barely move. I would put money on it that my hypothesis would be proved true. Seriously when my kid gets a new guy he can barely catch his breath.
When I find them(once every 3 months or so) after checking everyday I've got enough adrenaline to eat my local SWAT team with a teaspoon.

I'd suggest trying not to think about it that way, though. Was the extra 30 bucks worth your son getting a birthday present that made him happy? If so, it wasn't a scam...you paid what you needed to pay to get what you wanted when you wanted it. Time is a factor here. I've paid high prices for a fig before (I paid 17.95 for Firefly when he first came out...granted, now, that'd be a deal) but I don't regret it or anything.

I disagree with a kid will enjoy figures more than a adult. My sons are 12 & 10 and they like Joe's, but aren't into them like me. Yeah they'll play with a few(which are the ones I buy extras to open), but given choices, they both will take the following in order
1)C.R.E.A.M. 2)Video Games 3)Girls 4)Action Figures
