I have been looking for a nice looking Zartan to open, but lately every one that I find seems to have the same defects. For some reason there scratch that runs across his chest plate armor underneath the Cobra logo. I have also noticed that there is a dent on the pad of his right leg.
I have only noticed these defects on the Zartan figures with the corrected cards that have "Color Changing Face" printed on them. The cards that I have are stamped 73092, and 73232. I'm thinking that something might have happened to the mold these were cast in. Maybe it was damaged because all of the Zartan figures I have seen in the last few months have that annoying scratch on them. I also have a Zartan with the "Color Changing Face" sticker on the card. That card is stamped 72912. This Zartan does not have that scratch or any dents on him at all. Even though I'm looking for a nice zartan to open I want to keep this one carded because of the sticker. Has anyone esle run into this problem with the more recently stamped Zartans? |

Never really paid that much attention. But odds are you're correct in assuming that the molds are starting to wear. Since Bludd in now being cast from the same molds, its possible that better molds are being used to support his production while case filler Zartans are being slightly neglected.
But that's just the wild theory of a guy who has been awake for far too long. |

I've noticed the exact same thing on just about every carded Zartan I've seen in the stores for the last two months. I wonder if we will see this "mold wear and tear" on the upcoming Major Blud since he's made from the same (mostly) mold? That would be a bummer.

I bought mine shortley after the release...Maybe a month or two afterwards...and mine also has a "nick" along the chestplate. I haven't seen a single Zartan on the shelves here in Chi-Town (Anyone other than Serpentor, Hoodie CC, Shipwreck, and Buzzer are virtually a myth) but again, I found mine around the waves 4 and 5 releases

I bought the last one I saw in February. It is dated 73232, and has the scratch below the cobra and dent in the right thigh pad. In addition there is a line of missing color change paint on his forehead. Has anyone been sucessful in removing the color change paint?
